Re: is this the right intake gasket
ok ok. I removed the water pump. (need new gaskets now)
Blew smoke into the hole and it comes out the intake manifold holes. my picture isnt great but here you go So this whole thermostat bypass was a rabbit hole I didnt need to go down... Learn something new everyday New issue. I still dont like those intake gaskets. take a look at the intake manifold. The rear of the intake manifold doesnt have holes that match the rear of the heads. Are those coolant passages? If the heads and intake gaskets have holes there and the intake doesnt, wont coolant just sit and soak into the gasket or something? Should I fill those holes in the head with something? Any idea why they wouldnt have the matching holes in the intake? Im getting new gaskets since I took the intake off (second guessing myself) and tore them up some. I also just realized I dont have a port on my rad for the heater core. Now that I dont need the thermostat bypass can I use the port on the water pump to the heater core and the return back to one of the top ports on the intake? |
