Hello, New to forum 62 c10

We got snow and school closed... Got to test fit the engine and trans this week. Need to shim the mounts. Will get pictures when they are complete.

Not sure yet what to do with trans mount. Thinking of just making a bracket and tying it to the existing torsion bar crossmember? It is Sooo close... Only issue I see (not knowing much) is might have to weld the torsion bar crossmember to give it a little more strength.

Also was able to start cleaning up the rear frame some.
Not sure yet what to do with the rearend...? keep it? or swap? or rebuild stronger? Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
I don't think power will be an issue. Motor should make about 340hp & maybe 450tq
Have not checked ratio yet and it's an open rear

Also, received new power steering and radiator this week!!

I used a 64 12 bolt rear end (same width)....Rebuilt it with new bearings, axles and used a 3:42 ratio...Had to relocate the spring perches outward and reattach the pan hard bar bracket and I kept the 6lug. Lots of kits offered to do this, makes it simple and some what period correct

Quick update on the build.
Power steering box installed. The kit made it pretty easy work,
(but I did have help)

Also, got a gas tank installed. Again, thank you all for your posts with options to use different tanks. I really did not want to fill through the bed. But, I was able to find a new 65 mustang tank that had been "sitting around" for several years. So it made my decision easy.

I think it turned out nice. I used the spare tire holder to support the rear of the tank. And just used some nuts to adjust the bolts to the height i needed it to be. And then used a piece of boxed stock to support the front of the tank. Wasn't sure if this was going to be enough support but IT IS ROCK SOLID.

Cleaned up the door panels. Both are done now and painted both sides primer.

Welcome and nice truck! I have a 1962 C10 as well, here is a picture of mine! We have been working on getting all the old repaint off mine to the original Sea Mist jade paint. Were almost there too!

Builds like yours make me happy, as my son has no interest in cars, bikes or anything mechanical.
