HELP! truck sitting 1" higher on driver side!

I was trying to duplicate the stance on this truck!

on page 2 he says his sits 31 1/4" front and 34 1/2" (post #46) mine is a lot lower with less drop. exact same tire and wheel sizes. im not seeing the gap between tire and wheel that mine would have at those heights hes mentioned. does anyone here know CLASSIC87?

Do you have saddle tanks? is the pass side tank full of gas or empty?

I fought the same problem and just about wore a set lower ball joints out. I built Dirt Track Cars for years and this will correct your problem. I noticed you have severals sets of springs on your stair well by the way. I bought from JEGS 1 set of AFCO 11" 1000lb springs which are quite a bid shorter than you'll need and the AFCO Coil Spring ride height adjuster. The top part of the adjuster is about 2 1/4 inches, I cut 1 1/4 inches of of the top part that goes up into your upper spring pocket and screwed the adjuster collar about a 1/2 from being bottomed out and then adjusted from side to side as needed. My truck has never been on a trailer and I drive all over the southeast to car shows. If its good enough for the rigors of Dirt Track Racing then its certainly good enough for the road

nice truck you have and great stance to go with it. im wanting the "rake" look. ill check into this

Thanks, Just curious what size tires are you running? I can't figure out why the tires or tire is hitting the fender well or the fender lip for that matter. I have 245/50/18's on 8" Boss 338's on the front and mine is about 3 inches from even coming close to the wheel tub

mine are 20x8 with 255/45/20 nitto 420s. ddr11 whats done to the front of yours? mine has a big block in it but it shouldn't bring it down that much more I wouldn't think!

Just one thing I noticed about the truck you were inspired by.....in the picture it looks to have a deeper backspacing on the front wheel/tire combo than what I see on your truck....I place the pics side by side on my screen......I can see it sits deeper than yours......you might can roll the inner fender to give clearance but the up and down travel will be an issue at cruising speed..........I think you have a back spacing issue......

Is the wheel width the same on both front rims? The backspacing the same? Is the OD the same for both tires?
IF they are, it is probably time to take it in to be checked by an alignment/frame shop. It seems like the problem was there before the drop, correct?

there was 1/2" difference before I put all new stuff up front, now its 1 1/2" lower in the front and 1" difference side to side. I know its gonna need alignment but ive gotta get the ride height correct first.

what does your trucks measure in the front from ground to center of wheel well?

Following for some information!
My thoughts were to add a rubber "shim" to the short side to gain the 1" difference.
My 78 has the same problem and has been a sore sight for "years" now I need new bushings so this is the time to address this!

I still haven't done anything just yet. im gonna swap the tirs out for 255/40/20 and hopefully just raise the driver side alittle with shims. my truck don't have a sway bar up front and im wondering if that would help level it up some side to side?

Mine has a 1 1/4" bar and was on there long before I changed the springs and spindles, and it was level, that is not a cure!

Couldn't tell in the progression of the thread were you asking me or IADC43
about the measurement......mine runs 27.5" up front and 27.75" in the back but keep in mind my wheels are 17" torque thrust.......

Thanks for responding. I finally have mine fixed and it sits 27" front and 27.5" rear with 255/45/20 and 285/50/20. I'll post a pic soon. I just ended up taking the springs in and out cutting them till it sit right!
