Re: WTB hub caps

Question. ( I think I know the answer, but gotta ask anyway)
Will 68 1/2 ton caps fit 16" nub wheels, or only 15" ?

Re: WTB hub caps

I have a set of 4 16" Clip style wheels. $150.00 for the set plus shipping. I would need some time to remove them and put some other rags on the truck so it stays mobile. WES

I'll keep these in mind. I like to find some non split wheels, and a little closer, but may get back with you. Thanks. Layne

So are you saying that 1/2 ton clip caps will fit 16" clip wheels?

Layne
Here is one on ebay that I think is what you're looking for. Its a 3/4 ton chrome for a 68 (they are chrome not stainless). This one is $95 shipped but has a big dent. I would find it hard to pull the trigger on this one.
My advice would be to buy 1 or 2 here and 1 or 2 there, and build a set. I respect your choice to find and buy the correct hubcaps for your truck. That's the way to go IMO. I think you will be glad you did. Good luck.

Re: WTB hub caps

Thanks Scott, but those are for 15" wheels.
If they were for 16", they look nice enough to 'buy me some time' while I look for the correct ones.
Thanks for helping.

Re: WTB hub caps

Also, as a temporary fix, what other 16" wheels will work with my '68 3/4 ton painted clip style caps?
Later year model?
Another manufacturer?
Thanks.

Re: WTB hub caps

OK, if I have not completely used up you guys patience on this.

Are there any '67-'68 hubcaps that are nubs style, that fit on 16" 8 lug wheels?
I'm trying every combination I can think of.
I had no idea it would be this difficult to find Wheels/caps for this truck.
Thanks guys.

OK, these are 68 camper spl wheels: 16.5x8.25 with clips...on the front of my truck (no you can't buy them). I did just buy one nice pair of these and they are for sale. You have to use the correct matching caps. I don't have any extra caps.

Re: WTB hub caps

OK, regarding tire availability, am I better off with 16" Split rim, or 16.5" rims?
Thanks in advance!

Re: WTB hub caps

Just got my hubcaps back from the chrome plater. They look awesome! These were a painted set, that had some pitting and a few small dents. I am thrilled at the results.
Just gotta paint the red and black trim, then I'm ready to go!
Anybody have an idea of the red and black paint codes for 1968 3/4 ton?
