Re: 1966 C-10 Stepside Build/Upgrades
Got the rearend on and brakes bled Sunday.... You always hope to have an easy bolt on kind of day, especially with a slight hangover...jajaja... When I first did the measuring for the narrowing of the rearend, I knew the back plate of the drum brakes was going to cut it close to the ends of the trailing arms because of a hump on the back of the plates...
And I was right... The humps were hitting the traing arms.. So I had to notch the ends a little pinch... Onces notched, everything was good to go.. My measuring on the steel braided brake line was a little off on th epassenger side, but it'll do for now... |

Re: 1966 C-10 Stepside Build/Upgrades
Got the front springs in yesterday... Love the stance.. But now, just like I thought, the headers scrape just coming out of the garage. So, now gotta save up for some some shorty/mid headers... Still haven't put the Wilwood calipers on, waiting on the drilled and slotted rotors to arrive.
So that makes the drop a 5.5" in the front and a 6.5" in the rear.. Is there a way to post videos on here?? |

Now that I lowered it more, that tire on it now is perfect for the rake, tucking and no issues of tire rubbing inner fender. |

Re: 1966 C-10 Stepside Build/Upgrades
Thanks Guys... Been MIA for a lil pinch.. But I'm back at it again... My baby was born on May 29, so I've been a busy DAD.... Had to save up a lil pinch of cash for some headers... I went with Hedman Headers 69196 HTC coated mid-legnth. The picture shows them in black, but they are silver ceramic coated. I also went ahead and bought a CPP 20 gallon fuel cell to replace a 8 gallon that I have on there. My trailing arm crossmember came in too.. Should start putting everything in this weekend..

Re: 1966 C-10 Stepside Build/Upgrades
Thanks guys... I've been working on it every chance I get on the weekends... Here's what I have done so far. Headers are in(had to do a little trimmimg of the frame for the passenger side, no issues on the driver side).....Got the fuel cell in, still need to connect the gas line.. Trailing arm crossmember in(damn rivets are a headache)... Got the driveshaft crossmember in too. I also istalled new CPP shocks in the rear and reaplace the 1-1/2" lowering blocks with the new 2" angled lower blocks....
