Re: The Mad 72 k20
Coming together nicely! Just a heads-up. GM painted the top of the dash to match the dash pad and with a flat finish to reduce glare. My orange K20 with a parchment interior had a black dash pad and the dash top was painted a flat black.

Re: The Mad 72 k20
Being a big 519 fan, dark yellow or an orange that has always been a question for me as well. Either way it looks good!
But being a serious numbers guy there is something that comes to mind. The door data plate decodes for a C20 4x2 truck and it has clearly replaced/no-factory rivets. Being as the chassis is a 4x4 I must ask do any of the numbers match your title and will that be a problem?

The #s do match the title not sure exactly when it was converted.

Subscribed. I have a 1970 K20 that I just purchased and a huge K20 fan.
Looking forward to seeing your progress. Take care and have fun, Tom

Re: The Mad 72 k20
Great so you are on top of that. Its a hard question to ask but I hate to see people with a project they can't title. Or even worse have it impounded during a VIN verification.

Re: The Mad 72 k20
Little update. I ended up using the radiator out of the donor truck. Fits pretty well. Also bought a couple of electric fans off of eBay.

Re: The Mad 72 k20
Made the stupid mistake of masking with cheap plastic drop cloth. Overspray flaked off and was floating everywhere when I was shooting 2nd coat of high yield.

Re: The Mad 72 k20
When I paint the hood and the box I am going to add about 6 more 4' lights in my garage. I had a couple spots low that are a little drier than I would like. I guess that's why they make 2000 grit and a buffer

Re: The Mad 72 k20
That is looking really nice. I am sure you are excited to get it all in color. Cut and buff will make it look really nice.
Keep up the good work there Take care, Tom
