Re: Rebuild Vent Windows

Well I got my vent Windows rebuilt by Precision and got them installed this past winter. Finally got her out of the garage for a ride. The wind noise was oh so much better than it was before. And I didn't have to use any silicone.

Re: Rebuild Vent Windows

That looks good! I had been debating on having Precision refurbish a set of mine after reading this thread-I have NOS LH assemblies but no RH so I'm still on the fence with it....I don't want to use NEW on one side and refurb'ed on the other....

Re: Rebuild Vent Windows

My experience with Precision Replacement Parts was excellent. I sent the vent assembly's to them and they did an amazing job of restoring them. They contacted me during the job to offer replacement glass since mine had some scratches. We agreed the scratches wouldn't be noticeable once I re-tinted the windows. Per our agreement he shipped them back with out the latch assemblies installed so they could be tinted properly.

Once the new tint and handles were in place we installed them. The wind noise was pretty much non existent. We tested for leaks and determined that the job was a complete success.

I am in the process of rebuilding an 85 Sierra now, and Precision Replacement Parts will be my go to source. I have no doubt they will do it right.
