Re: Which truck to keep?

Man to have your problems.

Nice rigs tough decision but as much as I respect the more rarity of the stepper and believe me I did oddball stuff. I'm keeping the fleet side super

Re: Which truck to keep?

Tough problem to have. All else being equal, I'd probably sell the fleetside Super and keep the stepper. Two reasons: the stepside has A/C, and you don't see stepsides every day.

Nice, you put up pics. Like others here, i'd definitely keep the 1972 C10 Cheyenne Super SWB.

Re: Which truck to keep?

Swap beds and keep the Super Stepside. When you say "working air" I assume the Super has air, but not working?

If it don't, people love the aftermarket a/c units.

Me personally, I'd keep Super and not switch anything, and deal with the a/c later.

No sail? No sale!

If you don't know what to do, you *have* to keep 'em both.

It's the law.

Sell them & both a buy a long bed
Why worry about A/C? It never gets hot in Olympia. Then again, my last time there everyone was complaining about sweltering in 80 degree heat.

I thought Super came stock with EVERYTHING I learned something new today. Actually, I found this info. as well. Not sure how accurate, but it seems right:

Don't know about Cheyenne Super, but here are the differences according to “71 sales brochure”.

ü All had L&R mirrors and disc brakes.
ü Custom: Interior was vinyl, metal door panels, black floor mat. Exterior was hub caps, painted front bumper.
ü Custom Deluxe: Interior was cloth & vinyl w/color keyed floor mat, lighter, dual horns, insulation and dome light switches. Exterior was everything on the Custom plus bright metal windshield, rear window moldings and chrome ventipane frames.
ü Cheyenne: Interior - Deluxe all vinyl seat cover and door panels, carpet, headliner, lighter, pedal trim, insulation, dome light switches. Optional bucket seats w/console. Exterior - Everything on Custom & Custom Deluxe Plus: Cheyenne nameplates; chrome front bumper, cargo light, bright lower body & side moldings, fuel filler cap & tailgate trim.

All Cheyennes and Supers will have:
ü Wood grain on door panels
ü Headliner
ü Cargo lights
ü Stainless around window trim
ü Deluxe knobs interior
ü Chrome front bumper
ü Wood grain lower molding
ü Wood grain tailgate band with upper tailgate molding and tail light bezels.
ü Deluxe marker lights.

Note: Some of these items were standard on custom & custom deluxe and special promo trucks, while some other were optional. A headliner was not an option for Custom/Custom Deluxe.

Cheyenne Super is highest trim level package for 71/72 Chevy. The differences between Cheyenne and Cheyenne Super are:

ü Wood grain on the gauge bezel
ü Glove box door aluminum with wood grain
ü Emblem on glove box door
ü “Super” emblems on the fender.

Re: Which truck to keep?

I would keep the fleet, but that's me.

You need to keep the one that YOU like best.

Re: Which truck to keep?

I'm reminded of a time it was time to get rid of a 90% 72 Chevelle Malibu. I had no doubt which of my two classics was gone.

Difference is I recognize your dilemma. They're real close, and being the same color makes matters even more difficult. I can't even decide on a color, but I keep coming back to ochre and white.

If it helps (not), I like the wheel set up for the step a lot more than the fleet. Even if you swapped them out. I also like the red on the step. The red and those wheels on the fleet don't do it for me. That said, I'd keep the fleet, paint it differently (e.g. red/white two tone), and definitely replace those wheels. That's just my opinion, and you know what they say. Heck, I'm potentially looking at ochre, SWTF do I know?

Re: Which truck to keep?

Edit, actually the red on the Super can look pretty great. I just can't handle those wheels dude. This could be you...............Keep the Super, that's my opinion:
