Re: C30 GMC Dually
JD i am unaware and may be wrong of a wheel base change from 1980 to 1981. They did change between 72 and 73 though..67-72 swb is 115" lwb is 127" then from 73-87 swb was 117.5" and lwb was 131.5". so I would think any lwb bed would fit...1 ton may be different wheel base.. only change I know of in 81 was the new sloped hood design.

Re: C30 GMC Dually
I wouldnt know about that. May be a difference between 1 ton and pickup wheelbase, but thats the short and long wheelbases for pickups from 73-87. 117.5 and 131.5....cut and weld..make it fit..thats what i did to mine.

Re: C30 GMC Dually
Nice truck to start with. Short cab & chassis trucks take a bed with 60" cab - axle measurement and longbed pickups take 56". No change in length 73-up. In fact, cab & chassis prior to '73 take 60", too. If that's a GMC then it's a C35. People call all dual rear 1 tons duallys, even other brands. GM coined the term for their new pickups but it wasn't dually, it was "Big Dooley"

Re: C30 GMC Dually
Wheelbase for short bed is 117.5 in ,,, long bed is 135.5. But this would also depend on if someone has shortened or lengthend the frame "to fit" a certain bed..I looked at a couple before I bought mine and they had all been cut, mine came with the 164.5 wb which is why I had to cut out so much to make it a short wheelbase..mine was a regular cab on a crew cab chassis..just looking at your pics I think yours is short.

Re: C30 GMC Dually
Godfather.. mine is 135.5 now , its what I ended up with after I cut my frame .. I made my bed 8 ft long but it would have looked better if it was 8 ft 6 in.. it kind of looks bobbed off.

Re: C30 GMC Dually
No. Cab is the same. The frame is 4" longer than a pick up frame. length was added between cab and axle for a longer wheelbase.

Re: C30 GMC Dually
Looks good ghost..I had seen pics of that one before and if I had gotten a dually truck instead of a 1 ton I was gonna style my bed sides similar to that.. but not dragging the ground...I use my to pull heavy trailers to much..but it looks good.
