Is this the kit shown in your pic? I am also curious about the posting that commented about the system being "Noisy".
I have thought about this upgrade on my 87.

Re: Vintage Air kit..............worth it?

That kit looks a little different than mine, give me a second and i'll run out to the shop and find the correct # for my kit. As far as being noisy if its on full fan it can be a bit noisy but that's what the radio is for, plus when it's 100 degrees outside I really am only concerned with staying cool. Again worth every penny !

Re: Vintage Air kit..............worth it?

My install book states p/n 754181, but my kit was a little different since I swapped my alt. and comp. Call Vintage Air Monday and talk to the tech dept. My firewall block off panel came with paint chipped off on one corner and instead of waiting on a replacement I had a buddy at work re powder coat it for me. If you have questions during install their tech dept. is great to work with.

I asked Vintage Air why they don't advertise that the kit will fit an 87'. The guy I talked to said that the under dash unit may interfere with the mounting location of the stock computer. My cab is an 83', but I'm running TBI from an 89' Suburban. I was able to fit the computer on top of the Vinage Air unit.

Re: Vintage Air kit..............worth it?

It is a tight fit but I unplugged my harness plugs on the ecm, then I installed the front two mounting screws on the a/c unit then plugged it back in.
