wow that wiring looks like a smoke signal waiting too happen.

it still has the clutch pushrod sticking out the firewall looks like it coulda been a manual.

i hate too see when people cut e brakes off. some dont realize how important they are. I've always liked the e brake handle under the colum gives the 67-68 that old vibe.

It used to be three on the tree and is now automatic.

I am torn about what I should end up doing to the truck. Restore it close to original 50th look or do whatever.

Do you guys know what all I need for the accelerator pedal? I have not looked under the carpet in this area but I am assuming I need the pedal and a pin of some sort?

I scored two original metal door panels and two original armrests for $30 total off of craigslist today. I will post pictures later.

Not sure if the '68s had the two pins on the floor or not. My '67s gas pedal is held on the floor by 2 pins/ball stud like things that snap into the bottom of the pedal. then the top of the pedal just slides on the accelerator linkage. Nice score on the panels and arm rests. No matter what way you go with the build I would save any parts you take off. Just in case!! Make it your own and have fun with it good luck!!!!

I have some good news and some bad news.

Here is some of the new stuff I have bought. Harness, diagram, manual, new terminal wiring, connectors, etc. for the rewiring.

Now for the bad news,

When I went out to the truck to grab these door panels I noticed that it was damp inside. I have holes in the top of the cab where the stock roof lighting used to be and apparently it is raining inside my truck through some of the interior screw holes. Not good. Anyone have any quick/cheap advice to stop the bleeding? Body work is not an option at this point.

Since I am getting ready to rewire I would not mind reinstalling the roof lights to fill the holes and solve the water problem. I have not been able to find them online anywhere so far..

For a temp fix use Aluminum Tape... you can get it at about any decent home improvement store...

Welcome to the board. Like you, I am also new to this forum and type of vehicle. I just bought a 1970 C-10 w/350ci....auto. I have turned this into a project w/my grandson and so far most of my problems have been solved by the participants of this forum. Stick around and learn something, I know that I am learning alot

Complete rewiring of the truck is finally finished!!!! I have to do a few more things before I can take it for its first drive such as put on a new transmission cable and fix a gas leak by the carb. I am going to go ahead and add new plugs and wires while I am at it.

Also, I got a free tailgate from a friend of a friend. Got very lucky.

I also picked up an Edelbrock performer EPS manifold and a Holley 1850 4 barrel carburetor with some valve covers off a guy on CL for $80. I am going to rebuild the carb and install them over winter most likely.

Finally running 1 year later! Rewired, replaced blown manifolds with headers, new plugs, wires, and fuel line. Changed the oil and rebuilt the carb.
