Re: Need some assistance picking a color scheme (again)
I vote for ochre with the white top. Looks good with both or the single molding.

Re: Need some assistance picking a color scheme (again)
Option 1.
My 72 GMC is the two tone deluxe ochre/white, and I was wondering the same thing as you. Since all of my side trim is missing, I thought option 2 would be easier. But I personally do like the option 1 best, so I'll have to buy trim. |

Re: Need some assistance picking a color scheme (again)
Do you know if that's an original paint scheme for 71 and/or 72? I don't believe it is, but who knows, it's not as if it couldn't be special ordered.
Thanks for the info. Zep. I saw the picture was linked to about c-10, wasn't sure, because it didn't show as part of his little collection. That's some "garage".

I don't, it was from an expired Australian Ebay posting.

I bought NOS all the way around. Clips and all. Wasn't cheap. Some sweet deals along the way, most at a premium. Other than two pieces that have since been replaced, all mint. There's another option, which would be about 20-30% cheaper for moldings. I hear good things about MAR-K. Regardless, I'm back on the two-tone train and not looking back. Just need to figure out the right drop for the rear leaf springs.

Say C10 King, I just realized what's beyond that truck. Very cool. I had the lemon, my brother's was apple.

Re: Need some assistance picking a color scheme (again)
Late to the party here but no disrespect to anyone's rig but in my opinion I always feel they look so much nicer with some mouldings. Some say it's cleaner with none but I see it as they either went cheap or for whatever reason didn't want to bother especially on Cheyennes
Now my truck originally no moulding but will have the upper moulding when I re-do it so my vote is a hybrid of your options white cab ochre body and upper mouldings. Still period correct and unique in this day. |

Re: Need some assistance picking a color scheme (again)
Couldn't you just start with the doors since they are notched for the key lock?

Re: Need some assistance picking a color scheme (again)
White top with white strip on bottom under trim pieces was factory in 71 at least. My lime truck is stock and has the same paint scheme. Favorite is white roof/color/white middle/color bottom...doesnt get any better imo.

Re: Need some assistance picking a color scheme (again)
YES...........Does the piece rest on top of the lock or slightly above?
