Re: Repop Fenders

Good luck. If I had to money I would buy all new sheet metal vs fixing the rust. Fixing rust is so time consuming, I've moded some new panels and found it a lot quicker to do than fix rust to just find bondo and more rust a foot down the same panel.

Re: Repop Fenders

the after market people are trying--not everybody can fit the patch panels correctly as cutting and welding and being perfect. You want a show tk, pay a pro to do it. for the guy that have the $$$ to pay for, or the skills to do some of the retro-fits this helps. bad mouthing some of this re-pops parts are not going to make them better--let the seller know maybe? try piecing out a bedside or fender if you have never done one before and making it look straight. just saying------------

Re: Repop Fenders

I'm curious, all you guys keep saying "Fix My Rust" parts are "free shipping"

(which is a BIG deal on fenders as we all know!), but when I look at their

website and do the shopping cart, it shows shipping charges tacked on.

What gives, do you have to call them to get free shipping?

they look the same as LMC even the gap at the bottom where thy did not spot weld it I polled it together with vice grips and welded it I also had to elongate a few holes but in the end every lined up good

Re: Repop Fenders

I don't know about the seams on those fenders. If you look at the green fender the seam is tight and neat, the black fender looks like a trackhoe excavation in a creek.

Re: Repop Fenders

I used those same LMC fenders. You will definitely have to elongate a couple holes and maybe make a cut or two but it's worth the effort to have a rust free panel IMO. I've had rust show up on patched panels after 6 months before. Sucks to do all that work twice.

Re: Repop Fenders

well I got my fenders on and new inner fenders and they didn't exactly fit like a glove but I can make them work the problems I have is the top fender holes they don't line up but the ones on the inside front lined up perfect...And the driver inner fender where it mounts
to firewall had some issues...but I knew this from everyones elses experience..
