Re: New NAPA Truck
I got an email from my local Napa Store and they found 3 of these. If anyone wants one let me know. Of course they are more than in the USA so they want 60.00 a piece for them then there would be shipping. I need to know by tomorrow if anyone is interested.

Re: New NAPA Truck
Thanks for that offer. Didn't see it till now, but I guess I'll take my chances on finding one local to save a buck. I'm not a serious collector. I can take it or leave it. I see certain models and if it's quality made or I feel it would look nice with the other stuff I consider buying it, if practical of course. I THINK THIS IS A QUALITY PIECE THAT WOULD LOOK NICE WITH MY OTHER STUFF!! I REALLY NEED ONE EVEN IF IT MEANS BILLS WILL BE HARD TO PAY THIS MONTH!!!

Ah, what the heck. You bought Nylints from me, You were nice enough to buy an extra thinking of your truck site buddies, and I have yet to ask at my NAPA. In fact, I was just there yesterday. This seems easier. Let's do the PM thing and I'll send you the bucks

I forgot to wrap or put it under the tree, and never opened the box. I guess I could wait and give it to myself next year

Re: New NAPA Truck
I wasn't able to find one anywhere in Edmonton and when I asked them they looked at me like is was an idiot, even when I provided them with the part #. Luckily Already Gone bought an extra one and was kind enough to sell it to me for what he paid!

Re: New NAPA Truck
As nice as that truck is I just dont understand why NAPA did not get it out there on the market so it could be found or at least online.

Re: New NAPA Truck
It means they will be available a long time from the stores who are willing to acknowledge they exist. I think the other version I got a few years back was from a year or two prior.
So, as far as we know here, only two members bought these, both grabbed an extra thinking of their buddies here, and now four of us own one. And neither sold for a dime's profit. That right there is a thing that shows the spirit that makes this website the cool place it is.

Re: New NAPA Truck
I was back at NAPA today and I asked the manager why it is so difficult to find these. She told me that they don't have any control over whether or not they get them. They are classed as promotional items and are therefore not regular stock. Basically they get sent to stores that have had success selling similar items in the past.

Re: New NAPA Truck
That sure is a bass ackwards sales technique. I ran into that building a clunker (home-built predecessor to the mountain bike using '50s-earlier bikes). I could only find one knobby 24" balloon tire at one bicycle shop in the whole region. I finally had to order one directly from the mfgr which took forever. I was all excited about this great new way for adults to enjoy bicycles that I was sure would become a huge hit. We live by the C&O Canal which has a toe path that follows the river, virtually level, for over 150 miles that people were riding skinny tire bikes on with flats totally expected at any time. Not to mention those bikes suck when trying to ride slow. They agreed ATBs were a great thing, yet when I asked why they weren't stocking parts to build these they said, "There's no demand". Say what?? There is no demand because no one knows they exist because their bicycle shop isn't promoting them. About a year later Ross started making them, dealers started offering them, other companies jumped in, and within a couple years mountain bikes took over as the number one selling type of bicycle and still are 35 years later.
Oh, and BTW, if anyone reading this would like one of these hard to get replicas mine is available for $85. I figured I'd offer it up to my good friends here first before listing it on Ebay. I'm just cool like that . And LOVE to JOKE!!! Not for sale, and if it was I wouldn't sell for more

Re: New NAPA Truck
I sent NAPA corporate an e mail telling them how hard it was to find their trucks and that more would sell if they could be found and got no response. You would think for a major anniversary they would want them out there.
