Re: Asking for opinions and then getting mad
I could write a book on the subject of mean people but instead I will keep it short and say the following.
Mean people have a fragile psyche. Mean people think kindness is weakness, on the contrary true weakness is the inability to be kind. It takes a strong person to be kind after the hell humans have put them through in their lives ergo kindness is true strength. Last edited by Xeen; 10-04-2015 at 04:56 AM. |

Re: Asking for opinions and then getting mad
most of the forums I frequent are very tame, I mostly go to gun and automotive forums. luckily there are still a few where you can tell it like it is without fear of a mod having a fit and banning you for telling the truth.
if you really want to see crazy TOBT at yellowbullet, just don't do it at work or in front of your kids

Re: Asking for opinions and then getting mad
At work one day i told a supervisor that "nobody cared, and there is no motivation in here" is why a job was done the way it was on second shift. I was getting fussed at for something i have no control over, she went and told a higher up and he said "if you ask a man a honest question and he gives you his honest answer you got to accept it".

Re: Asking for opinions and then getting mad
I have held over 20 jobs in my life. I have read but also found out for myself that most problems at work are caused by poor management and often that is due to a complete lack of personal skills and respect by the so-called "leadership."

Re: Asking for opinions and then getting mad
Bone, you are absolutely right. If the OP is not looking for comments, he should not ask, "What do you think?" Instead simply say, "Here's my completed project." Anyway, it's too late to ask for comments after the project is done!
Personally, I don't comment on something that's already been done, unless I like it. But if someone asks for opinions in advance, I'll jump in. Of course then I might upset another member who's already done it, like install a too-big cam or carb for instance.

Re: Asking for opinions and then getting mad
purple is a hard color to get right but they pulled it off on that car.
I had a candy purple low rider in the early 90's. it had a copper base with transparent blue top coats to get the color, ended up with somewhere between 25-30 coats to get the depth I wanted. 5 copper, 15-20 blue and 5 clear. I would hate to pay for that paint job at todays prices

Re: Asking for opinions and then getting mad
I'm in Los Angeles, so the question I have to ask is: What is rain?
I belong to a few other forums also and this one is by far the most informative, positive & easy going of them all.

Re: Asking for opinions and then getting mad
Well, I live in the monsoon belt of South Carolina. I left yesterday to commission a voltage regulator in St. Louis but before I did I waded in 2 feet of water in my shop to attempt to secure things. It commenced to rain another 5 inches after I left last night and this morning. I think that makes somewhere around 15 to 18 inches in like 3 days and it wasn't dry before that started. I dread going back to see the damage. That's what rain is.

Re: Asking for opinions and then getting mad
Me personally, I like it when someone sets me straight. Since the subject of "gripes" has come up, one of the things I see constantly are threads where someone asks advice for a problem they're having, and they don't respond with the end result.

Re: Asking for opinions and then getting mad
With all the lovers of pink, I can only say welcome to the site girls...
I work w/ people from SD. They alternately complain about too little rain, and traffic jams caused by the rain... |

Re: Asking for opinions and then getting mad
Doesn't this site have a rule that one "must always like someone's truck?"
If that's so it's a silly rule since I guess people on here can't take disagreement. Maybe the rule is needed though. |

It's all part of the plan for a pussified country. You know, everyone gets a trophy. Don't get me started....Besides, wrong forum.

Re: Asking for opinions and then getting mad
BTW a staff member should move this as it has nothing to do with year specific trucks and is a general discussion if there ever was one
