the rear of the frame was boxed in. He made a front mount with a piece of angle. then bent his lower mounts to set it to the depth that would hide it the most and keep it safe. Then bent some straps to hold it down from the top. used some anti vibe rubber strips all around it to keep it quiet and firmly in place.

Please give us more info on that tank is it a car or truck tank and where you got it?

I am not as familiar with these years and I was told the 60-62 cabs were specific to those frames as far as cab and bed mounts. If that is true what did you have to do to make it all work on the 66 frame? I've got a 61 is the reason for my curiousity.

Everything was the same except the front mounts. on this one he just drilled out a new hole and used new mounting hardware to fab up a new mount. the inner brace runs over the 66 frame in the same area. really easy.

The rear bed crossmember and the crossills are also different since the '60-'62 frame is wider in the rear. However they can be modified to work with the '63+ frames.

If anyone would know its him^. We haven't found that out yet since we aren't to mounting the bed. But now we know that its going to need to be modified. thanks Captainfab!

OK .. So stupid question?
"IF" you ever have to remove the tank,,, will you need to remove the bed first? From the Images it looks like the lower supports are welded to the frame?? Or am I just to old to see right?

since the bed floor has to be raised for the notch it will have a hidden "trunk" where it will be accessible.

the original dealer badge and then three we scored nos from the grandson of the old dealer.

starting to build the rear suspension. He started off wanting it static dropped .... you see where that's got us.

I cut down a C-60 grille just to see if it flows with the look that he is wanting.

Since the last update the truck has taken a drastic turn. It turned from a nice driver to a full blown custom. Kent got a hold of Schott Wheels and had them make him a set od 22x9 and 22x12 billets.

Along with the new shoes and brake system he installed a Porter built drop member and a new rack. The front stance was achieved fairly easily.

The back required a lot more Fab work. The 2x4 rails were bent off of our specs by Art Morrison. Qa1 shocks were mounted behind the Dutchman 9in. ford. Aeromotive fuel cell w/pump and the Viar 480s were mounted in the back section as well.

Looks good, but I'm confused by what looks to be a set of lower link bars going to a crosmember to the rear of the differential?

Those are the shocks on the rear of the diff.
