gcm, as you can see their are many opinions here and i think all are very good ones at that,But if you do decide to get one of them i know for sure (speaking of the GMC)
on this site you will get a wealth of information on how to fix and go about restoring
that truck. That's what is great about this forum,there are many of us that have brought back the Dead rusty ones and made alive again,i know i would stand up and applaud you for taking on such a task.But that task might mean some frustration and allot of money,and the skill to accomplish.But there are GREAT Bunch of guys here and on other forums that will help you accomplish that task if you do decide to get one of them.
Good luck with your decision either way and let us all know what you decide.
