Re: Was this worth $300 that I paid ??
Been thinking that. The long one has developed some major leaks and the engine is worn out but first thing is to pull the engine and temporarily install a "built" 305 that I have while rebuilding the 350. Meanwhile, looking for a complete LS eng/trans. set up for the swb. It needs a heart transplant
![]() I have to come up with a title somehow to be able to tag the swb. The guy I bought it from got it years ago from an old farmer and the farmer gave the truck to this guy for parts and the title is long gone. He got the couple of parts he needed and put the truck under a barn where it sat for years. He eventually lost his storage place and that's how I ended up with it. So for now, everything hinges on being able to get a title for it.

Another vote for keeping the longbed and fixing up the shortbed. That longbed is sweet. If room is an issue (as I well know, welcome to the club) keep in mind how much space two torn apart trucks is going to take up. You got a hell of a deal on that shortbed. Score!

![]() ![]() As far as the short bed goes, I personally think I got a hell of a deal too. The truck was set up to run on propane or gas with the flip of a switch. It had a huge tank on the bed to hold the propane. Still has all the propane stuff on it except the tank. I gave it away. I'm betting the inside of the engine is clean. Also as bad as the pics look on the outside, it had parchment interior but the seat is gone. It has parchment visors, rearview mirror mount cover, seat belts, door panels and arm rests. All cleaned up good and look brand new except for one of the seatbelt straps has a small tear and the metal door panels look worn but they can be easily painted. I can't decide whether to Rat Rod it or go all out. I am thinking tuxedo black with parchment interior and buddy buckets, just not sure yet on paint color yet.
