Re: My 4x4 60 build

I stripped all the extras off the truck and pulled the motor and she's headed to the paint shop.

I think I'm going to paint it all black with a white roof and white grill area, does anyone know if GM ever painted trucks that color? Any pictures out there in cyberland?

Can someone photoshop it for me, por favor?

White over black sounds very nice. Glad you are going to paint the grille surround white - really looks best that way, as grandpa GM did it. One tid bit on the grille surround that, for some reason, many seem to leave out - if they even do the grille surround at all, is to ONLY do the surround in white - and to do the background (i.e. everything INSIDE the confines of the surround) in black/satin black, etc. Really, really makes it look the best it can in my opinion. Can't wait to see your truck when it's painted - gonna look great.

Re: My 4x4 60 build

He's been dragging his heels with this truck and I thought that I would have to bring some muscle and scoop it up. I thought I would have to find another shop but it looks like he's just another lazy painter. This may actually turn out ok!

Cab doors, side panels, battery box, floor shifter pan, front headlight grill, completely stripped, priming all of them now.

Acid washed the front fenders backsides 2x and front core support also to rust inhibit them and help get all old rust off should have complete truck in prime buy tonight worked all weekend

Re: My 4x4 60 build

Under dash and inside cab satin black

Every front end piece has been media blasted to bare metal and primed and painted satin black on back sides

Inner fenders and core support and both hood hinges 2 small front end pieces primed and satin blacked

Every part is in prime and all backs are satin black plus battery box and steering Column

He'll start final dent repair, block sanding, final fillers to paint whole body tomorrow

Re: My 4x4 60 build

Very nice, thanks for sharing your work/progress.

Painters???, last truck took a year, did a great job, very slow. In the long run slow and good, is much better then, quick, poor quality work.
