Re: Original 1965 PU In The Shop
Your radiator and air cleaner are correct Bill. 292s automatically get the larger V8 air cleaner and radiator .Any truck 63-66 can get the V8 style radiator as an option , the small 6 radiator that uses a spacer to get it closer to the fan was only used on 194 and 230 sixes. The 292 K20 I bought from you has the "Heavy Duty Cooling " option in which case you get the larger 4 core radiator, fan shroud for a six, 5 blade fan, two fan belts driving the fan and alternator. I've been trying to find one of these HD six fan shrouds for quite awhile now. So far I've only found them on 292 4x4 trucks and one 292 AC truck. The Air cleaner on my K20 is an oil bath and was designated by the addition of power brakes when it was ordered new. On a 292 the air cleaner you have is two large whe power brakes are added.
