And for those wondering what the center levers and buttons are. I rebuild and restore REAL train horns. Thats a real graham white valve and bell button, an digital air pressure gauge, and the switch for my dougs electric header cutouts. These are a set of 1957 leslies S5T bronze tabbies and the bronze bell off the same Norfolk southern unit. I have several others but these are my favorite.

you can barely see it with the seat installed.

Thank you and I try to keep my projects small lol. I am done with my truck after the ac install, Next up is my 65 mustang fastback 2+2 4 speed 289 car.

Looking really good, I like the speakers.
I added the same amount of dynomat material as you and even on the fuel tank. Yeh the POR is a lot of fun to remove, especially on the face

Not as quite as I hoped for, even put an extra layer of jute padding under complete floor.
I'd suggest adding dynomat and jute behind fuel tank. My next plan is mass loading vinyl.

Thanks guys. This truck has been a ton of fun. And yes all my horns are loud lol. Heres a video off my front porch of me coming from a good ways away.

If anyone has a picture of the vintage air center dash cutout from behind the dash with the vent installed please post it. I need to see if I will have room between my stereo and tweeters. Also a picture of the vintage air unit and how close it is to the passenger side vent.

So I had a brain fart on the 65 idiot light I am using. I thought to myself why not just put both circuits parallel on one wire so when the truck is warming up my temp light is on. After it reaches operating temp the switch opens and the light goes off and if it gets to hot the over temp switch closes. I will basically be using the 65 temp switch to illuminate my temp lamp upon warmup and if it gets to 220! All with a 2" jumper from this bare prong to the one I already have landed. Since both work off the block ground I won't have any issues.

Now I bet I am the only truck like ours that has a temp gauge. A warm up indicator and over temp indicator all in the stock dash

Nice work. You might miss those fresh air vents though. I run Vintage air with kick panel speaker pods so I can still open the vents. Having the passenger side vent operational right next to the AC fan intake is especially helpful because I can open it while running the AC to get a mix of fresh and recirculated air.

Yep, I know what you mean. Several years ago I started out with trying to just get an old 71 GMC running and roadworthy, and ended up with a total frame off restoration.

9steen69 you are the man. Thank you so much. That's exactly what I needed to see. I will not have any clearance issues with my speakers in the vents. If you get a chance or can even reach it could you take one last picture? I need to see the clearances of the center vent from behind between the stereo and dash?

Lastly what year did they start putting door lights in our trucks? My 67 only has a dome light that only works by the dimmer knob. It doesn't even have holes for the door switches. I think I may add them if I can find a nice kit

Thanks for the pics... I eliminated mine because the instructions said to (It came with a cover - I just used silicone and a couple screws. I have the vent still laying around somewhere...), but if there is that much room, I'd like to add it back. Even being able to crack it open in the spring helps clear all the leaves out.

Yeh I used your thread when installing mine and was surprised when the new kits don't block those off. It is nice to open them for fresh air without the noise the window rolled down creates.
The cowl vent is so worth it, keeps out all the leaves and garbage.

LOL i am going to pass on the cowl vent covers. My truck stays in the garage locked up and only sees rain if I get caught in it. Also dont worry about the pictures, I highly appreciate the pics of the vent and fan as it was the area I was most worried about. I believe the center vent is going to be ok with my tweeters and bracket.

What did all you guys use to cut the center vent out? I am thinking a mini air saw???

That looks good Steve, I live in Petal, but go to Bassfield almost every other weekend. I would like to swing by and check your truck out, I am planning on installing some type of ac into mine, but don't have a clue which type I want.
