Re: Redxbob's 66 c10 swb build thread
ok its been a little while since I updated but ive been very busy here. I picked up a 6.0 ls truck motor for it, and disassembled. I don't have the disassembled pics but I think we all know what a motor looks like lol, got some cnc ported heads with ferrea ls1 valves had the heads milled to raise compression, tsp 224/228 cam timing chain, hardened pushrods, lunati behive springs, f body oil pan and pickup, and installing new gaskets all around

Re: Redxbob's 66 c10 swb build thread

Re: Redxbob's 66 c10 swb build thread
hopefully this weekend I will be installing the rear which I mocked up already and welded the brackets for the 4 link in place, sorry I didn't take pics before I dropped it off at the blaster. control arms will be back today from the powdercoater so I will install them this week along with the rear end. hopefully getting the motor together as well this weekend but still waiting on the cam from tsp, I want to install it before I put the heads on. deciding on pulling the trigger on a f.a.s.t lsxr 102 truck intake manifold and trying to figure out what headers will fit in the frame rails, I really don't want to spend a fortune on headers right now as it will be turbo next winter. hoping to get some cheap ebay headers for now for this summer to cruise with

Re: Redxbob's 66 c10 swb build thread
ok its been a while again, been very busy with work and this truck. laptop took a dump and well it wasn't high on my priority list to replace. but I now have a "repaired" one, same one that now kinda works lol. well here are some updated photos and progress. started to tear into the motor a bit and upgrade the heads and cam. the motor had 706 casting heads and non mls gaskets and I didn't want to run into issues later on when I boost it so I went ahead and got some mls gaskets and a set of 862 heavy casting heads cnc ported and ferrea ls1 size valves put in beehive valve springs hardened chromoly pushrods and a tsp 228r cam

Re: Redxbob's 66 c10 swb build thread
I decided to go with a over drive trans as well from geared up transmission in florida. I went with the 4l60e simply for space savings under the truck. its about as built up as you can get for a 4l60e with a 3000 stall convertor

Re: Redxbob's 66 c10 swb build thread
Cool build! What size tires are you running on your transport wheels front and rear? Also are you using any adapters or spacers on the rear drums? What type and size are the lug nuts also? Thanks for any info

Re: Redxbob's 66 c10 swb build thread
Rwade the tires as of now are 265/30r22 dunlop sp sports, they are a little short on the sidewall but i got a insane deal on them that i could not pass up and i neededsomething for it to roll around on. The lugs are 7/16. Im running a 2" spacer in the rear right now. I had the spacers from my daily driver so i just popped them on for the time being, not sure how they will fit with the bed on. I wil be having the axles machined down to fit the wheels without the spacers as well when i pull the rear apart to put the posi in

Re: Redxbob's 66 c10 swb build thread
Ised my buddys lift to get the cab back on and took the truck back home. And got the engine wired up to the ignition and fuel system set up. Brakes are in and working and got the truck outside under its own power for the first time
