Re: 67 GMC Quick Build
Been working on the harness. Got the firewall plug installed and harness on the motor. Got to do the firewall to pcm wiring now. The pcm and fuse panel will be under the seat.

Enjoying your build and I'm learning a lot! Have to say, getting the wiring sorted out on mine transformed the truck.

Re: 67 GMC Quick Build
I just realised I never put any pictures of the engine.
Painted int he proper color first. Bought a Cam Swapped the Cam Made a valve spring tool Changed the valve springs And that is the motor that will be running in the truck for stage 1. Stage 2: CNC port adapters for LSA blower and LSA blower.

Re: 67 GMC Quick Build
I also made up some coil brackets to mount some GMC valve covers as coil covers but they are too tall and hit my booster on drivers side and firewall on passenger. Maybe I can clearance them, not sure.

Re: 67 GMC Quick Build
Looks great! One question: Why did you raise the upper control arms?

Re: 67 GMC Quick Build
Im running 2007 Silverado front spindle assemblies. I flipped the lower ball joint which equates to ~3.5" drop spindle. C10 ball joints point up and late model gm ball joints point down. So I reamed the spindle from the bottom to put on the C10. The later model spindle is much taller, has disc brakes, and is 6 lug. To get the front geometry correct the upper control arm had to be moved around. Caster/Camber/Toe is all static and done with an alignment but the caster gain, camber change, and toe change are all dynamic and are designed into the geometry. I used LOTUS suspension analysis software to optimize my geometry for what I believe I want. Once I drive it I'll report back on how I did, LOL.

Re: 67 GMC Quick Build
So now the truck has 2007 spindles, brakes, wheel bearings, calipers on the front.
2007 calipers, rotors, and parking brake out back. 2007 engine.....my take on a daily driver C15. Also now the front wheels have speed sensors which I will use towards my traction control someday. Hopefully it'll do decently well at good-guys auto-x, and more importantly Power Tour.

Re: 67 GMC Quick Build
Raised the factory inners and threw some paint on the fenders. The doors came out crappy so I reworked them while I was at it. Still need to align the fenders, just threw them on for the trip home.
My famous glass friend threw my windshield in

Re: 67 GMC Quick Build
Bagd,
What did you do for ball joints on the front arms? I am curious I am pursuing something similar on my 64 3/4 ton truck? thanks Sean

Re: 67 GMC Quick Build
I put in later model ball joints. Like 85ish. Same thing on inner tie-rods. I reamed out the centerlink for the larger tie rods.

Re: 67 GMC Quick Build
Ryan,
did you have to ream the spindle as well? I currently have 79 disc front brakes on my 64 gmc with the later ball joints. Interesting I did not have to ream my center link for the newer tie rods interesting?? Sean

Re: 67 GMC Quick Build
Yes my spindles are off of a 2007 Silverado. I completely redid the front suspension geometry.

Re: 67 GMC Quick Build
Thats awesome how much further in did you have to bring the upper arms to get everything lined up?

Re: 67 GMC Quick Build
Well, havent been working on the truck too much. Bought a new house with no garage so I've been organizing and trying to store all my spare parts/tools. Good news is after my old house sells I'll be breaking ground on a new garage. But here's a pic of the truck now. Need to raise the front an inch or 2.

Re: 67 GMC Quick Build
Been awhile since I posted. Wife and I flooded back in August and everything has been crazy since. The 67 was at my dads shop getting ac charged luckily so it was spared. The bed was off and flooded. And my 67 Chevy flooded. At its crest the water was just above the bottom of the door of the truck. Water stayed in the house for over 6 days. But we are rebuilding. I sandblasted the bed and got it in Epoxy to get it back on track. The shipping container was filled to the top with C10 parts and all my tools. It had about 8" of water in it and then baked like a Sauna. Lost alot of parts. Axles, gears, posi's, transmissions, engines.

Re: 67 GMC Quick Build
We are still fighting the insurance battle, but at least we have that. Many people who flooded this time did not have insurance, were not in flood plains, etc. Its crazy where the water went and the damage it did. My wife and I have a Fema trailer to stay in now so at least we are kind of home. Just working on the cleanup. House is completely gutted now. Once insurance settles we will start the rebuild.
