Re: 70 day crunch

The gas cap came from one of the motorcycle places. It came with the weld in bung and I fabricated the actual filler neck. I'll look and see if I can find exactly where I got it from.

Looking good.
That may be all it gets before it's over with. I'm hoping to have the paint work finished up by next weekend and that'll leave me 21 days for buffing, assembly, wiring, glass and interior. Your plan sounds better though..

I need all the help I can get. My 16 year old nephew was helping me out with what he could but he decided to get a real job on me a couple weeks ago. I wish it were a wood bed floor.

The fuel filler cap came from Lowbrow Customs.

Truck looks great! Did you paint inside and outside the bed same day? Just asking because I am trying to figure the best way to paint mine. Thanks

It's always been easier to me to paint the inside of the bed separately from the outside. In my case I had to because I used a matte clear on the inside of the bed and regular clear on the outside.

The rear tires are 295/45-20 and the fronts are 255/55-18's. The front really need to be one size smaller.

It's a custom mix PPG base and PPG clear. I'm calling it Anodized Titanium. Looks a lot different in person.

Truck is gonna sweet when done! I have some question about your gas cap I love the look of it. What tank did you use and any other pics from the underside of the bed?

I used a 74-75 suburban tank and straps. I'll go through my pics and find some from the bottom or I can take some. Any pics in particular you're wanting to see?

Re: 70 day crunch

Despite countless hours in the last 70 days the crunch is over. As of 5:30 pm yesterday the engine has given up and with the wedding this Saturday, there's no time or money to make this happen.

She's going back under wraps until I can get the engine repaired/replaced. Truly a sad day at my house.

Re: 70 day crunch

Ahhh this sux majorly!!! Sorry to hear the bad news, I can only imagine how upsetting it is. I might have thrown several tools down the driveway if it were me.

I'll still be looking forward to future pics, and your daughter and son-in-law can still take it for a cruise and some pics together in the future. It'll make a good prop for family pics when the grandkids come along one day

Re: 70 day crunch

I'm sorry. So close.

There'll be another momentous occasion for it to make it's debut...
