Re: Would you make this trade - poll

From what I see the trucks are climbing in value now. The Malibu has dropped a little in value but still higher than your truck right now and the custom market on them are very high right now.
EXTRA SEATS for cruising with family and friends in a classic PRICELESS.

Re: Would you make this trade - poll

Pretty easy to come up with another truck. Not so easy coming up with the car.

If I was in a similar situation, but with a car I really desired I would do it. I like the Chevelle but not a car I would trade for (personal taste thing). I would trade for a 60's Mopar, or an earlier Chev.

Re: Would you make this trade - poll

I would keep the truck. I'm not a car guy though, I have my cutlass because it was my first car, but I don't need any other cars. Personally I'd LOVE to have an original CST shortbed, especially orange.

Re: Would you make this trade - poll

Gotta say no, I'd keep the CST. I too love the orange / white trucks. Nothing against the 65 but I'd think the CST would be more desirable. .. more of an interest if you had them side by side for sale. If both were sitting at a Super Chevy show, or Good Guys which one would you look at more?

Go with your gut man, but if it were me I'd turn it down. If I ever find another solid CST / Cheyenne I will be hanging on to it for sure.

The trucks are really popular in this area, they may be more plentiful in SoCal but they are bringing big bucks where I come from. Just my .02

I say go for it. Both will hold value, why have two trucks. Don't see as many chevelles on the road. Both are really nice looking by the way. Good luck.

Re: Would you make this trade - poll

That's a great looking car. Why have two trucks that are essentially the same?

The car looks like it's ready to cruise while you chop that extra longbed down to a shortie

Re: Would you make this trade - poll

I am going to say no vote until you get a inspection mirror and inspection cam and look for hidden rust issues.

You never know what someone did in past on those little hidden nightmares until you really have it apart.

You have full knowledge of your current truck.

You're on a truck forum, asking truck owners if you should trade your truck for a car? The car looks nice but I think you already have your answer and you're just hoping someone else will agree with you to make it sting a little less when you drive that new car home.

Take a magnet to the rockers, rear quarters and around rear window. If it's not all mudded up, trade.

Re: Would you make this trade - poll

A lot more trucks out there than Chevelles, so I'd go with the car for long term value. Short term either or as right now the guys who don't search pay decent money for both.

^^^This lol I wouldn't do it for that year chevelle anyway. If it were a 69, or late 60's Mopar without the bad rust then maybe but that Chevelle just doesn't blow my skirt up. BUT, as stated above, it's your taste and what you want. Nothin bad about owning a classic car AND truck.

Re: Would you make this trade - poll

Looked at the car in person. It has some rust on the lower rear window trim, the trunk, and its bubbling around the wheel well on the rear quarter panel. There is bondo behind the rear bumper so I'm guess it was hit at some point. The 283 has more get up speed than I excepted. Interior is in ok condition. The owner liked my truck and is willing to trade straight across for it. I like the Malibu body style a lot but overall I like my truck more. I told him I will sleep on it and get back to him in the morning. Thank you all for the feedback.

If I did what everybody else wanted me to do, or their opinion, I would not have a older truck to begin with.

This is not directed at anyone here, we are a very unique part of America that remembers our Heritage.
