Re: Finally, found a 1970 K20 CST!! Road trip pics too

Day 2: Driving across the Kansas and Colorado plains. Its amazing how many old trucks are still in service or just sitting around in Colorado. Found a bunch in one spot. Prices were higher and things were rustier than I was hoping for, some just as rusty as what we find in the Dakotas and western MN, but some a little better. This cornbinder must be fairly rare, 4x4 swb!

Then we met up with Ernesto (Otensre) in town (Colorado springs) and picked up the rust free cab I bought weeks prior. He is an awesome guy to deal with and has some very nice trucks!

Very cool! Glad you finally found one! Extra cool that it's a Custom Camper!

Fantastic! I'm in to watch a "full factory restore" -- I look forward to seeing the work progress on this one!

Re: Finally, found a 1970 K20 CST!! Road trip pics too

Congrats on the find.
Looks like we are looking at the same trucks.
I have a few but the factory marker cab in the year I'm looking for is elusive as of yet, that and life's priorities.

Glad you found it. The board members here are top notch in my book - Pete and Tim have certainly been helpful to me as well.
Can't wait to see your factory resto when it starts and god willing I get to see it done some day.
Cheers!

Yep, although I am tempted to put CST/20 emblems on it since that is probably more rare than a CC But that would be deviating from factory

Thanks! it will be a bit, got a couple others to do before this one, especially since it runs and drives pretty good.

Coming along pretty good. Hopefully have it moving under its own power within the next couple weeks. Just finished painting my patch work the other night. Getting excited to hear it run again.

Re: Finally, found a 1970 K20 CST!! Road trip pics too

I'm delinquent with pics, here are a few more from Colorado. Rust free 67 in one pic. Other pic is empty trailer (except for trans and tcase I was delivering) but with cab in bed. That may have been NM actually, can't remember for sure where that was

Not sure why the 67 pic is flipped, never had that happen before.

Re: Finally, found a 1970 K20 CST!! Road trip pics too

Day 3 drove down to ABQ, dropped off some parts, and got the K20 loaded up. Then we got some food at Garcias that was pretty tasty and hit the road for Texas. Made it to Tucumcari and stayed at a motel on route 66.
