Re: Who runs ethanol gas?
I got an ole 62' 283 and was informed I should avoid ethanol and to use a lead additive. I'm new to this and just got my C30 running after a engine swap and I need it to last till the original engine is rebuilt. I got it from a local yard and have zero info on it. I don't know how long it sat, how many miles on it, what it had been used for before. it fires right up and no smoke, I haven't even tuned carb yet or set timing with timing light.

Re: Who runs ethanol gas?
The problem is the rubber in the carb

Re: Who runs ethanol gas?
All we get here is E10, so no choice.
I have the minimum rubber in my fuel line, but last time I cleaned the filter it was full of fine black granules, which I suspect are what little rubber I have being eaten by the fuel!
