Still one of my favorites. Another great improvement.

Re: Slick's got new shoes!!!

How are you getting away with the 5.25 BS up front on a 9.5 rim? Most run that BS on an 8.5 wheel. Do you have CPP spindles? Or narrow arms? Seems your wheels should be sticking out an inch too far, but they look good from here...

Stock control arms, ECE 2.5" spindles, ECE 2" drop springs. I was actually wanting a 5.5" bs up front and 5" rear, but these wheels are one piece and only offered in a 5.25" bs. In alot of ways, I was taking a big risk trying this. I did ALOT of research before buying wheels and making sure this combo would work. Even at that, I wasn't 100%. I just had to go for it. I think the shorter sidewall tire keeps it tucked where it should be. If the tire had any bulge or balloon to it, it may have stuck out.

The only issue I discovered is the inner wheel lip rubs on the stock control arm at full lock. I welded some 1/4" steel plates to the steering bumpstops to keep it from going as far. In the end, tubular control arms will be the best fix, but it'll have to wait until funds become available.

Re: Slick's got new shoes!!!

Well, it worked out. Looks great! Any pictures down the side, to show how they align with the body?

Re: Slick's got new shoes!!!

I went out in the garage last night and took these. I'll try to get some better shots the next time I get the truck out. Please excuse the mess in the background. lol

It's hard to see the angle in photos, but you can see how the wheels and tires still tuck within the fender lips and don't poke out.

Re: Slick's got new shoes!!!

Those pics are perfect, thanks. Dude, you nailed the fit on these! Any issues with rubbing anywhere other than the arms? Hard cornering, hitting dips, etc?

So far, no rubbing or scrubbing anywhere. Under hard cornering, the tires may be rubbing the inner bedsides, but even my old wheels/tires did that.

Which rear end are you running? I really like these wheels and wondering if I can run them on my 72 stepper

I have the wider 72 rear.

US Mags has a similar wheel..not exact...but close. (Rambler series that comes with either 5 or 6 lug)
