Re: Two 4 One patina drivers

The rims are on back order, but this should give me something to do until they arrive.

Re: Two 4 One patina drivers

My better half would kill me if I got that many boxes in one day! Better to spread them out over a month

Love the Two 4 One idea my step dad and I did that with square bodies when I was in highschool good memories

Ugh, the fact that you got the exact year of truck I want, in the exact color I want, with the right amount of patina and a SWB...FOR $1400!!!

I am dying of jealousy.

It was an amazing find. It actually found me, but I didn't hesitate when it fell into my lap.

Re: Two 4 One patina drivers

I sold the '70 Yamaha today to a collector for $150. So we will subtract that from the purchase price of the 67 Custom

Re: Two 4 One patina drivers

Last week I spent some time working on my brothers 68 step side. According to the casting # the engine is a 1980-1985 350 cid. The previous owner robbed a few parts off it while it sat unused. I can understand why he took most of the parts off, but taking a set of used points seems a bit extreme to me. I plan to see if I can get it to fire before reinstalling all of the parts it's missing. I also bought a battery and all the normal tune up parts ($183).

Re: Two 4 One patina drivers

Today I spent a few hours removing the front suspension from my truck. The process went well considering how rusted the parts were. Both lower control arms are damaged, but I received the new control arms a few days ago.

Re: Two 4 One patina drivers

The ups truck made another stop at my house today. I haven't had time to work on the truck this week, but today's delivery should keep me motivated.

Re: Two 4 One patina drivers

Made some progress this week. I need to finish installing the braking system, but the front end is almost done.

Re: Two 4 One patina drivers

Pulled it out to see how see looks. So far, I'm very pleased with the results. Once I set it down I noticed the new lower A arm is touching the dust shield which causes the rotor to rub slightly. I'll take the rotor off and grind down the A arm a bit asap.

Re: Two 4 One patina drivers

Got the easy end, I thought, torn apart. All four of the bolts that hold the rear springs into place broke off. I figured I'd break one or two, but I was surprised that all four snapped off.

Re: Two 4 One patina drivers

I attempted to replace the bushings on the trailing arms today. Part way thru that job I decided removing the rear end would make the rest of the work I needed to do easier. The trailing arms are rusted and beat up, so I'm thinking a new set may be needed.

After waiting for more parts to arrive, I finally had a chance to finish the rear.

When my brother and I were teenagers our parents owned a 68 short step the same color as my current truck. I was thrilled last year when I was able to purchase this truck.

Re: Two 4 One patina drivers

I haven't had much time to work on our trucks the past 2 months, but I still have some updates to share. My brother decided the 68 step side was a bit more of a project than he wanted, so he bought a 67 swb off ebay a while back. The old blue step side is currently listed on ebay with a current bid of $1725. The red 67 has been lowered, but a complete 4/6 drop wasn't done, so the plan is to finish the job with the ece kit we already own. We've also been busy buying and flipping c10's. Once the the 68 step side sells, I'll adjust the running total to show where we are on our goal of having two lowered c10's for the price of one.

Re: Two 4 One patina drivers

The 3 flips we've done. The white and blue ones have been sold. The yellow may or may not be sold soon. We're thinking we'll install our left over drop parts and the 20" rims off the red 67 before we sale it. The red 67 long box left for Texas last night on the transport truck.

Re: Two 4 One patina drivers

We have definitely experience some C10 fever this past summer. By next spring we will both be cruising our lowered swb trucks.
