Re: Anyone after a 1972 two-tone 43k mile survivor GMC?

People say it's not worth it, but this is just the minda truck these "Made for TV" builders would buy to blow apart and customize so they don't have to deal with restoration, then turn around and ask six figures. Remember Boyd Coddington buying that minty '59 Impala? he had to pry that away from the owner. Do you think that seller decided to sell it for a low-ball price when the buyer is begging for it? It's too much money for me because I don't have the money

I'm sure documentation would be available to a serious party. Hey Dennis, if you are lurking out of curiosity, because you know we'd be talkin', I hope life is good and arrowheads are plentiful

The SPID has a order number, wonder if it was a customer special order or if the dealer special ordered it as a sales promotion...

Re: Anyone after a 1972 two-tone 43k mile survivor GMC?

There are an awful lot of supposedly low-original-mile trucks out there these days. Can't get a good look at the wear on the pedals on either truck listed above. But both of the odometers have numbers that are pretty out of line. Isn't that supposed to be a good indication of the odometer having rolled over? Someone educate me, please... not trying to down on either of these trucks, just curious!

Re: Anyone after a 1972 two-tone 43k mile survivor GMC?

I have always said these truck seem to have more original owner (and investor now) example than most any vehicle. And were loved, cherished, and babied more than any other truck. These trucks have been something special to many since day one. They were the last truck purchased for many and now and most of that generation are gone or not driving any more. You see a lot being sold by family, too. It might be true that more of these were garage or car port kept than any other vehicle of the time...except Corvettes or other specialty vehicles. Also, many were bought as occasional use handy chore boy, go fishing or hunting, camper hauler, or boat/camper/race car tow vehicle

Why does the wheelbase have 000.0 on the SPID?
