Looks great. Did you also bed line the underside of the body? I plan to use a similar product called lizard skin. I plan to coat the underside of the body as well as the fenders and running boards.

Are these pics current or did you already finish your burb? I think that it is great that there are (4) active burb builds and each one has a unique approach to the finished product.
I sprayed Chasis Saver on the underside of the whole truck. I was pretty impressed with that stuff so I just went for it rather than bed liner. I used bed liner for the inner fenders, inside the actual fenders, and the floorbeds.

Yeah it's cool that there are some active builds awesome to see how others are approaching their builds. Mine isn't finished yet. I did the body work to the best of my ability (not that great) and left it with a neighbor in Colorado that has over 25 years in the industry. I am driving out with my trailer this weekend to grab it. Pretty excited to get it back and get back after it.

Did anyone have issues with fitment of the windsheild weatherstrip? I have a few areas where the gasket is to big for the frame.

Re: 1952 Chevy Suburban Build

Money and gathering parts is going to slow me down dont worry fellas.

I picked up a set of steel wheels and some baby moons recently so I will be behind a sandblaster getting rid of the red and getting those powder coated this weekend.

Re: 1952 Chevy Suburban Build

Finished body work on the last door. Who ever owned the door before cut a six inch hole for a speaker. I did a pretty bad job welding this so it took a lot of work to get it presentable.

Re: 1952 Chevy Suburban Build

Got some more stuff done on the burb lately. Had the bumpers blasted and powder coated professionally I think they turned out real nice. I wanted to stay away from having to much chrome up front to let the grill "pop" more.

Re: 1952 Chevy Suburban Build

Got the exhaust done by a local shop. I went with dual exhaust straight out the back. The guy talked me out of flowmaster and into the Walker brand. They sound pretty deep at idle and not as raspy as a glass pack at higher RPM. So far I'm happy.

Getting this part done meant I got to drive it for the first time and it was awesome! I need to work on the brakes they are a little soft and need to get the alignment done. It drove really nice to about 60 but started to feel a little vibration around 65.

Re: 1952 Chevy Suburban Build

I set a goal a while back to have the Burb ready for a car show labor day weekend. I made it there didnt have windows or anything done with the interior but it was still awesome to cruise there with my wife and some good friends in their rides.

Re: 1952 Chevy Suburban Build

I finally cleaned up and got some heat in the garage so I can get some work done on the suburban. I re-plumbed my intake manifold from being heated by exhaust to coolant from the thermostat housing. This hopefully will help maintain a more consistent temp and eliminate some of the hesitation on acceleration. Bending stainless tubing is unforgiving and became quite the project.

Re: 1952 Chevy Suburban Build

This weekend I also got sound deadening installed in the roof. I used Fat Mat Rattletrap Xtreme. I have never used a product like this, it was fairly easy to work with and seems like it will do a good job cutting down road noise.

Re: 1952 Chevy Suburban Build

B52, beautiful Burb. If this is a supposed "budget build" it's easily the nicest budget build I've ever seen. She's becoming a beauty queen. Congrats.
