Re: neverfinished's 52 chevy
Been quite a while since the last update but I have been slowing working on the truck.
I installed a new chrome grille and I love it. Really transformed the look of the front end although it was a pain in the @ss to install. I blew up the old engine so I replaced it with a GM crate 350. I replaced pretty much everything under the hood with brand new parts. New Edelbrock carb and intake manifold New chrome alternator New exhaust manifold New distributor New starter New spark plugs and wires New flexplate New motor mounts New K & N air filter New chrome valve covers New Optima yellow top battery And I replaced the brake rotors and pads It's running good and I have been daily driving it for the last 3 weeks with no issues. Also added power steering and installed a new steering column and steering wheel. Had a RetroSound radio installed and added some of their kick panels along with some Kicker 6.5" speakers. New headliner and rear view mirror along with a new cigarette lighter that works. From my office at work I can see people stopping and checking out my truck all the time. One of my favorite things to do is to take a pic of them taking a pic. |

Re: neverfinished's 52 chevy
Nice truck. The grill really changed the look.
I'm about to start my truck, so if you don't mind, I may have some questions for you. Since you and it are close enough to see it in person if there is a show you are going to, let me know and we will try to come take a look in person. |

Re: neverfinished's 52 chevy
All I did was paint the existing seat with SEM color coat.

Re: neverfinished's 52 chevy
Wow, I'm impressed with how that seat looks. I'll be interested to hear how durable that paint/dye is? How much prep is required other than a good cleaning? Any light sanding required?

Re: neverfinished's 52 chevy
I cleaned it really good and used their vinyl prep spray. It's been over a year and it is starting to fade a little where I sit. I'm gonna spray it again soon. I'd say a little touch up once a year isn't too bad.
