Project Nightmare Porterbuilt Install

So this what i got done today. The C notches are drilled out and fully bolted in. The upper and lower shock crossmembers are in place and the shocks are mounted. Tomorrow i ll throw the bags in and get the panhard bar mount in place. Then i just gotta drop it down and check the travel and see if anything is hitting. Then itvs all back apart and off to paint.

Ok. I m stuck here. I just shot an e mail to dave. I don t get how these upper bag plates mount up. And the treaded rod shown that came with the rear upper bag cup hardware doesn t fit in the holes. What am i missing? Is there supposed to be a nut welded on to that center hole. Can someone chime in on this?

There IS supposed to be a welded not on the top of the cup plate so that the threaded stud can be installed.

We will get a new set sent out to exchange and have those come back. I can't apologize more for the inconvenience.

Got the panhard bar mount on today. Can someone tell me how to set it up properly. I m not sure how. I see there is 3 different mounting locations on the bottom bracket. I m a bit confused as to how to set it up right. Thanks.

The goal is to have the pan hard bar as level as possible when the truck is at ride height. Which ever hole gets you there will be your best bet.

Ok. So this is what I got done today before work. I got the panhard bar installed. and I got the air tanks and brackets mounted to the bed wall. I thought it would be ashamed not to show off the accuair system so i thought even though this thing is far from a show truck i would make my own little show piece out of it. this is the direction i m goin with it. I ll post more pics as parts arrive and you ll start to see my vision for it. I may have to switch the brackets cuz of the way the compressors have to mount in them. we ll see where it goes. Any questions, comments or concerns would be appreciated. thank to everybody for all the views and support so far.

Thanks MAC. You re build tread has been a great help to me so like you I thought I d share the process. I got the bags in the rear today. but i do have some questions. First does the pan hard bar mount on the rear end there thread in or is it pressed in and how in the world do you get it out. Second, did I put the lower bag plate in the right place or does it mount under the trailing arm. thanks for everyone s help.

Great progress! I love porterbuilt products.
I am however having a hard time with your air management location. I know your intention is to show it all off cause its awesome looking and expensive gear, but it looks out of place and likely to get damaged or stolen there.
Those are great brackets that you bought and are designed to go on the frame rails to hold all that equiptment up and out of the way.

I will follow along with your project. love stuff like this

Thanks for the concern my man. I think it ll be ok there. i ll be putting a cover over the bed anyway so it won t be seen if i m at a movie or something. If someone does steal it then they ll get to see me about it when they get found. I work for the county sheriff s dept corrections. So here it is on the ground. So it s been ****ty here and i really haven t been able to do much the last 4 days or so. but I did get my accuair manifold and ECU set up on the brackets. This will Mount between the air tanks with that relay behind it. That way I can run the wires straight through the back of the bed and hide them.

Not to mention MUCH noisier..... That sheet-metal panel is going to vibrate way more vs the thicker frame rail.
Nice progress though.

The factory Pan-Hard bar stud in the differential housing is pressed in place. Just cut the shank off the stud & don't worry about it.

Thanks for the tip. I figured I didn t need it so I already had cut it off. As for the vibration I did think about it and i ll most likely use some grommets or something on the brackets. those panels are pretty hefty so we ll see hoe it plays out. got a little done today. slow but it s better than nothing.

I'm working on mine too!! Same setup!! Do you know if you can run hardline with that accuair manifold?

I ve seen it done on a lot of setups online. I plan on doing it myself with copper tubing
