Re: Different glovebox emblem

I have access to some 100 year old American Chestnut... the Tiki Sea10 might need one with a wax finish.

May need to take some 'artistic license' on the font tho...

just a quickie test on red oak

Playing around on the wood one makes me think of doing a few 'inlays'.... as a glovebox emblem, inlay on gauge cluster (knob area) and in the inset of the radio indentation... might pull the whole Woodie Tiki Truck theme together.

Played around with finishes and (not shown) painted the letters with ivory 1 shot.

any updates on the fitment? and will you be making any in aluminum??

also about the radio indentation, are you going to try an make a radio delete plate out of wood, that would be cool!

Going to make a few pieces out of wood for my truck... still sourcing Curly Koa wood for the Tiki feel. Also, will have different script/saying in the panels. Yes on the radio indentation having a wood inset. I have a few ideas (radio indentation, glovebox inset, inset in door panel) out of Koa wood... we'll see how it comes together though.

As far as aluminum... here is the first step in aluminum... still needs a final buff and paint the inset a satin black.

Any thoughts? Approve/Disapprove?

Also, leaning towards attachment being with 3M 467MP adhesive tape... once it's on, it's ON

Re: Different glovebox emblem

You might consider selling them unpainted as well in case someone wants their own color in there.

Re: Different glovebox emblem

The OP stopped posting to this site back in September so probably not likely he will be back to make these for people. I replied back then and never heard anything so maybe he moved on to other projects.
