Re: new disk brakes dragging

That looks just like my setup and no my pins do not stick out like that. I will tear it back apart and see if my bearings are binding or something holding the rotor out tomorrow. I sure hope that is it. Thanks for all the help. Il keep up on my post as i go.

Talking Re: new disk brakes dragging

you may have to "shim" the caliper brackets in order to move the caliper enough so that it isn't dragging. I bought the rear disc brake bracket kit from "CaptFab" for the Camaro/Firebird Rear calipers(pre LS1 calipers have the parking brake cable arm on them-93' to 97' models) if you were to get the LS1 versions, the e brake is a shoe set up that is internal of the brake rotor and wouldn't work.

I know you said you bought a CPP setup, pictures might help us find a solution to your dilemma by the way..... I'd try adding a few thin washers between the caliper mounting bracket (between the bracket that mounts to your rear end and the actual bracket the caliper is attached to) that may give you enough clearance to prevent the pads from dragging.
you might have to place the shims in between the rear axle tube mounting flange and the CPP bracket .

here is a pic that may help you:

Re: new disk brakes dragging

Well i pulled the pins and rolled them on my counter top. On the side i have apart one pin is for sure got a decent size bend in it. The other is not bad. Im guessing this may be throwing things off enough for me so il get new pins and go from there.

Don't give up...every vehicle is a pile of mechanical parts...and don't forget "if it has tits or tires...it's gonna give you problems".......
