Re: '66 Budget friendly driver
A little more progress. Got the stance looking good now. 5" Springs in the rear and 2" in the front with 1/2 a coil cut. Pictures are a little deceiving. It has a 1" rake.

Re: '66 Budget friendly driver
Thank you guys I'm glad you like it. I just want to build a cool little truck that theven wife and I can ruin around in and not be afraid to use it. Next up I'm replacing all of the rubber seals with some precision replacement parts parts. I used them on blackbetty and they are awesome!
Also here is a cool picture my wife took when we went out to grab some corn husks for decorating haha, ya her idea. You can see Louie in the back of the truck if you look closely

Following along too, love the keep it simple approach. 3 on the tree in mine and love it too, big fan of the painted bumpers and grill. Are they staying?

Re: '66 Budget friendly driver
Thank you! Yes keeping it simple and yes the white grill and bumpers are staying. I will start on the interior and bed fairly soon. The weather here has been so nice that I drive it a coupe times a week, so I don't want to tear it apart until its cold

Nice little truck! I like the "Just make it a driver" build philosophy. Trying to follow that with my truck.

Re: '66 Budget friendly driver
Getting the interior out. It's in very good condition. I'm super happy with it. Seat is going to upholstery in a few days!
Also we've decided to keep the original wood in the bed

Re: '66 Budget friendly driver
I really like you're keeping it clean and simple.
You say you want your wife to be able to drive it comfortably. Are you thinking of power brakes and an automatic transmission? I'm keeping my truck a truck. Go to Home Depot. Haul some stuff. Just a cool looking pickup truck.

Re: '66 Budget friendly driver
I have withdraws like a junky. It's so excruciating having it out of commission doing upgrades.

Re: '66 Budget friendly driver
Rebut the heater controls. One of the bars was broken. Previous owner cut the dash where the radio delete plate used to be (grrr) to install some gauges. The delete plate was still in the glove box though! I think I can attach it somehow and hide most of the ugliness.

Re: '66 Budget friendly driver
Got the Press on door seals onot. The fit and finish on these is the best. I'm a huge fan of all of the Precision Replacement Parts rubber parts.
Also got some fat mat layed down

Re: '66 Budget friendly driver
Rubber floor and door sill plates installed. Also got the turn signal switch replaced and cleaned up the steering wheel. My vent windows should be back from rebuild soon, then I can get all of the glass installed. Also here is a sneak peek at the seat.
