Re: She is home.....finally

Glad to see it arrived and better than expected too. Score! Congrats. What front hubs are installed?

Externally regulated alternator. It's the OEM-style set up. Does the cruise control work? It's not the dealer installed cruise for 72 with that switch on the column but cool nevertheless.

Hey thanks! I am really happy with it so far.

The hubs are WARN hubs, wish they were stock but maybe I will get them swapped sometime down the road.

Yes the cruise works fine but I kind of wish it wasn't there since its not a stock piece. I will likely remove it at some point since I don't foresee me using cruise very often .

The first thing I want to do is get the Dual Battery setup put back together. Everything is there but the relay. I have a relay that came in the AUX battery kit I bought from Roger K a while back but I want to use that for my other truck. Do you know anyone or where I could buy just the relay? I sent Roger a PM but haven't heard back. You don't happen to have any pics from your truck showing correct placement of the voltage regulator and the Dual battery relay do you?

I found these threads but nothing definitive as to where the relay and regulator go...

Re: She is home.....finally

Does the k20 have OEM spicers you could swap? I probably have a spare set but no blue dials.

Your voltage regulator looks correctly placed - outside face of the aux battery tray as seen on the attached pic. Is the harness seemingly intact? I'll dig for a pic of the relay location - seem to recall it affixed to the rad support. I'm sure you have the holes of not the relay maybe tucked behind the tray. Roger will get back with you. He set me up with my relay. His harnesses look good too. Do you have the washer bottle bracket for the aux battery set up?

Re: She is home.....finally

One more of the regulator.

EDIT: the two relays here are affixed to the rad support sharing the grounding attachment bolt (captured star type washer) with the outer most of the dual horns. I believe this is correct but welcome any additional input.

Re: She is home.....finally

The chevy has one yellow and one blue , I will try to keep an eye out for some originals for the GMC.

I looked pretty good for the relay but didn't see it anywhere. The rest of the harness is complete except for the ring terminal that connects to the + side of the battery. The wire and grommet through the firewall is there as well.

Yes, the washer bottle/bracket is where it should be on the pass side for a dual battery setup.

Did they come with expansion/rad overflow tanks?

Thanks for the help and the pics!

Re: She is home.....finally

You bet - added a bit more above. No expansion tank sadly - not much room left with both batteries in place.

BTW - LMK if you ever want to sell the cruise control set up. I think it's cool.

The second picture above in post #30 is not showing up for me. Only the one with the voltage regulator is visible, nothing with relays on it.

Sorry did not post a second pic but I can tomorrow. Shine a flashlight alongside the battery tray and peek at the outer horn. Feel under the horn if need be - the relay might still be bolted there together with the horn at the rad support.
