You still have the frame? I just went and looked at this guy's other frame and it's got the same rusted out areas.

Re: uh oh frame

Anyone know how much bare frames weight ? I'll have to use uship and I keep getting asked how it'll be loaded and unloaded and I have no idea how to answer them. Seems like 2 people could carry it, no?

Post Frame Shipping

Yes, two healthy people, not aging parents/old men with crispy backs .

To ready for shipping, get some bicycle boxes and open them flat, reverse and tape up well .

Re: uh oh frame

Cool!

Yeah, your original frame has some serious issues... the bracket that ties the coil mount to the cross member is GONE! So instead of the frame forming a "box" at the springs pocket, it was only being supported by that 1/4" plate.

Re: uh oh frame

Frame is on the way. Pretty cool that it gets a second chance at life.

Score! I was about to go into how you could probably do (or have someone do) some fab to build up that section in a safe manner, but a new frame section is DEFINITELY the way to go, particularly if you can do it for only $300 in parts!

Would you use the entire frame or section pieces?

I can't thank you enough! That was very generous of you! It still hasn't arrived, the guy said his engine blew up on his way down here.... Go figure.

I'm just swapping everything over to the new frame.
