Re: '69 K10 build AKA the MULLET MOBILE!!!!!

My advice to you is that these trucks are never cheap build and they don't get very good gas mileage. Many a man has had a beater to drive everyday so he could afford to work on his truck. At the same time there's nothing wrong with daily driving these old trucks either, it's all up to how much money you've got to spend on gas and getting your truck running in a timely fashion. As for the lift, if your planning to drive it daily 8" might get old jumping in and out. I personally love these trucks with 4" and 35s. Stock height with steels and caps looks good to me as well.

Noah ,keep pushing on but if you can get a cheap daily driver I would vote for that .

Re: '69 K10 build AKA the MULLET MOBILE!!!!!

Im thinkin about dropping it to stock height because less wear better mpg and cheaper. And the car im looking at is a 96 expidition for 800. Runs and drives. Has 4x4.

If it were me, I would find something cheap to drive that gets fairly decent gas mileage, that way you are able to save a couple of bucks that could be going into your truck.

We lowered my 3" in the front and 5" in the back and she cruises right along, then again mine is not 4 wheel drive. If it were I feel as if I may have destroyed it by this point!

A 4x4 Expedition won't get great mileage either, find a decent S10 or a small car.

Re: '69 K10 build AKA the MULLET MOBILE!!!!!

I'm enjoying the thread. I was once a HS student without $$$ to spare. You will get there.

I bought a 96 S10 as my DD back in 2005. It was $2000 and in 2009 i sold it for $1975. LOL.

My advice: Keep it running. don't pull the engine if you don't have to. I pulled my engine and lost interest in the project. Now a some time later I'm back on the project and looking for lost bolts. You don't want to be in this position.

Re: '69 K10 build AKA the MULLET MOBILE!!!!!

Sadly no start. Didnt try turning over. Hopefully its just the starter. But sadly looks like a wiring issue.

Re: '69 K10 build AKA the MULLET MOBILE!!!!!

You could always jump the solenoid with a screw driver to see if the starter will engage. The wiring on these trucks is very simple so if it's a wiring problem we can probably help you get it resolved.

Re: '69 K10 build AKA the MULLET MOBILE!!!!!

So she tried starting. Till my starter crapped. Its a wiring issue in the key switch to starter bc i have power to the blinker and the wipers.

It happens. Awhile ago I was trying to figure out why my back left blinker wasn't working, somehow at one point we had my electric fuel pump blinking on and off....
