Re: Look What I Found...
Guys, I know y'all aren't seeing this truck in person, but just a rough estimate from the pics, what do y'all think this truck is worth? I may get it and just try and flip it. I got enough projects as it is.

I noticed it has a uncut radio /dash area. And tinted windows. Nice find. I had a similar original paint truck a few years back , bought by a previous poster (C10 King Rene) he sold it Delmo ( a truck builder in southern California) and they named it "the Grey goose". I paid $2000 for mine, running and driving. I enjoyed the hell out of it. I just couldn't cut up an original truck so I sold it cause it was a 6 cylinder and I wanted a V8. Again its not that I couldn't upgrade the truck its that I just couldn't change such an original truck up. I think a good find / price for you to pay would be $4 to 5K if all you want to restore it. If all you want to do is flip it, especially if its hurt mechanically too, then hopefully pay even less. If you are in love with the early wrap around windows/knee knockers then pay a bit more... To each their own. Everyone now chime in... |

UPDATE:
I couldn't take it anymore. I bought it...had to have it. Next thing is to figure out what I want to do with it. That'll be the hard part.

Re: Look What I Found...
Yessir. Already got an LS3/TKO-600 for it that was going in my 68. I'll put that in the 62 and worry about the 68 later.

Re: Look What I Found...
Outside messing around with the truck yesterday and put a set of 22" HRE 3-piece wheels next to it just to see what it'll look like. I'm leaning towards powder coating these wheels sating charcoal grey centers with tinted brushed lips. Don't know what color the truck would be, but definitely not red...I hate red.

Re: Look What I Found...
It's yours. And no insult intended....
But my stomach literally turned when I saw those wheels mocked up next to it. Again, I'm not trying to bash or insult. I'm just posting exactly what I felt. I can't see that truck in my minds eye with nothing else than original stock wheels and hubcaps.

Re: Look What I Found...
The problem with aftermarket wheels is that they go out of style within 3 years or so and date your restoration. But if your able to complete your project quickly then your the cats meow.
I like the truck as is. Now that the patina style has come to the forefront, I regret having had mine painted. Course you found it, you paid for it, so, it's yours to do what you want with it. Congratulations on a fantastic find, looking forward to seeing your ideas on modernizing it.

Re: Look What I Found...
Wait, I missed the section on here where there is a set in stone section of ideas and values. Last I checked I'm not the only one on here with 22" wheels. There are all sorts of guys on this forum with 22" wheels and some with 24" in the rear. Also, some with turbos, others with air bags laid on the ground and others with chopped tops or suicide doors, etc. So, I'm confused with the ideas and values part.

Not everyone likes other peoples tastes. There's builds on here that I don't like so I just pass over them! Simple as that! I don't get why there is such a fuss over those rims. I find it funny how people here complain about Rims, but when a good running straight 6 292 is scrapped for a stupid small block no one complains at all! Rims ain't exactly my style but hey! They'd probably grow on me eventually and it'll be one unique and different build for sure which is what I like to see! Everyone is so stuck on the dumb 350 and slam it builds anyhow. Nice to see something different. Rock on man.

Thank you sir. You said a mouthful. I'm not the one with problem here. I so happen to like rims and the ones who didn't damn near had a CVA. I'm a nurse, so that stands for cerebral vascular accident, which is the correct term for a stroke. LOL!! Since guys don't like rims, what about this chassis? I'll also put a custom CNC chassis like this up under it too. This is the one I had built for my 72 Chevelle with 20x13 wheels on the rear and a IRS.

Oh Mr fancy pants with a fancy dancy frame, don't see a trailer hitch on that baby. lmao
Opinion expressed by a 55 year old who's on the mend from a triple bypass in April. I like your sense of humor and think you'll fit in just fine on this site. Built my truck in 86 with, wait for it, 16" wheels with the extremely low profile 255VR55-16's tires off a Vette. Radical when all the local builds were N50-15's. I have 2 sets of 22" transit wheels waiting for a project. Since I'm one of the ancients on this site, I'll put them on my walker! lol
