Yes it starts at the fuel pump and runs along the frame parallel to the 3/8" gas line all the way back to the top of the tank. 3/8" supply line, 1/4" return line. Here's a pic of my tank from LMC with the later V8 sending unit and both lines attached.

My '69 C-20 was made 12-5-68. Funny how our trucks did not stray to far from Fremont! Yep, our trucks did not have any "smog stuff", as 3/4 ton and 1/2 ton had different emission requirements for the same year.

Do you have the vent lines at the top of each corner?

Yuccales, I went to high school in the Sacramento area. And I found my truck down south where I am at now near Ventura and I am the 3rd owner but it has never lived more than 50 miles from me. And I live in the same town as the original owner. Mine still has original dealer license plate frame from Oxnard.

Re: Gas tank help

I do not. This tank came from LMC too.

That's cool KT. Have you checked behind the seat for a build sheet? Have heard some Fremont trucks sometimes got two of them, one behind the tank? The original lic plate frame is always cool to have.

Re: Gas tank help

New to group. I was looking around for info on cab leaks and saw this post about gas tanks. I have a 1972 c10 long bed and also have heavy gas fumes while driving. I was told that it could be the seal for the sending unit, so got a new seal and sending unit from LMC. I'm going to replace the rubber fuel lines in the cab when I drop in the new sending unit, it also looked like they were leaking. My gas tank is the EEC version with the charcoal canister and vent line behind the passenger, I can take photos if needed.

My question is, do I need to remove and drian the gas tank before I replace the sending unit?

Re: Gas tank help

Welcome to the boards. No need to drain the tank. That is unless the tank was just filled up. The sending unit drops in through the top of the tank so run the fuel level down below full.
