mudder - got your PM and phone - thanks! i'll call ya if i break down! oh - and yes, "watchamakalit" is my brother, dave, on this board.... i hope he didnt bother you too badly, he was just tryin to be helpful... talked with him tonight bout cha.... he loves 4x4 jeeps, but i'll have him converted to chevy 4x4 trucks in no time!

i'm about halfway - and i got stuck today.... broke one of my hard gas permeable contact lenses during the trip.... and my glasses were so old, i couldnt see to drive.... so i had to stop and go to an eye doctor and switch to soft lenses.... should be on the road in the morning... and i should make it to KC by noon tomorrow! its murphy's law.... somethin always goes wrong somewhere!

thanks for all the encouragement... i hope that it doesnt take me long to get broadband hooked up in my new place!

I always thought it would be a good idea to have a "Help" call list of board members across the country, incase a board member had a problem while they were on the road.

I remember about a year back while driving, I came across "crews" on the side of the road in Phoenix. I was glad I was able to help him get what he needed to get back on the road.

I've got a new shop going up that I could store that truck for you.

Good luck on your new venture.......

Hey everyone, she called my house last night, but I was still at work.
But here is the official word, she made it there, safe and sound.
Can't wait till she makes it back on line...I'll bet she has plenty of pictures.

I read Jewels post just after she posted it. On Friday I was in route to KC to compete @ The National Linemans Rodeo in Bonners Springs, Ks. As I came into Vandalia, Mo I was behind a Uhaul w/ a red 68 stepside in tow. I new right then who it was. I pulled over at the next town to fuel up when Jewels & Longhorn Jeff pulled in. I went over and intoduced myself and told them I had seen her post on this site. After several minutes of chatting and looking at her truck I wished them well and headed to KC for the task at hand. I dont know how probable the odds were to see her post on this site and then run across her on a 2 lane highway in MO, not very I would imagine.Just thought I would share this with everyone

Hi everyone. I'm here!!! I'm officially a resident of Kansas City, MO! Cool! I got my internet service hooked up this morning, so I immediately popped on the board to say hello!

I'm pretty much unpacked, and moved into my new place. I chose a nice little wooded apartment just north of the river. About ten minutes to downtown (where I'll be workin). I have nice neighbors, and a nice area to live in!

The trip went smoothly... (other than the broken contact lense.... i'm still makin trips to the local eye doctor to straighten out the new prescription....)

here are some replies:

lash!!! that was so cool to run into a board member on the trip! what was even cooler was that it happened on a little road in the middle of missouri --- i was takening the back roads, i'd say.... thanks for stoppin to chat! it was great to meet you!

he he - i'm now officially switched to soft lenses, but dont fear... my brother, my mom AND my dad still wear gas perms --- you arent alone in the world!

longhornman, sorry - i didnt take many pictures.... i dont own a digicam -- i have always borrowed them from my friends in the past... but my friends are back at purdue.... i suppose i could have snapped some regular shots with the SLR, but who wants to see me all dirty and sweaty after moving a ****-load of boxes? not too many ppl, i think! i'll have to get ahold of a cheap digicam from walmart or somethin, and snap some shots of my new place!

got a nice carport with the apt to park the lil truck under if i like.... was thinkin i might put her there for the winter (with a cover, of course).... but i have had a LOT of offers from other board members to store the truck indoors somewhere, so i'll see what happens.....

well, i cannot chat much now, but i will be officially online from now on.... i must still switch over electric, gas, take out the trash, return the UHaul, check back in with the front office, etc. etc. lots to do, so little time!

thanks for all the support in the move!
catch y'all l8r!
ciao!
