Yeah I've already check his build out period in fact I messaged him to see if he finished and he said he has not yet that he has not got much more progress done. Hopefully he will get back into it.

yes sir ive put new rockers, outer cab floors, and cab corners on both sides. Im working on body work now. I have to replace the inner cab header too. I just got back last night from a cruise to mexico so ill get back on it this week end.

New doors and fenders look like they fit pretty well. Are you going to integrate the dash and wiring from the Tahoe, or use a stand alone harness?

notsolo. I am planning on using the truck dash and the tahoe wiring harness, steering column, etc. My goal is to use the tahoe heat and air also.

Question for ya,,, If your planning on running the Tahoe HVAC system and steering column,,, wouldn't you want to "mock" those things up before you go to paint? Hate to see you have to cut in to a freshly painted cab to get that stuff to fit and work.

well I dont think its going to fit. no matter how I do it I dont see how to make the tahoe air box to fit under the dash.

Modifications to the 72 dash solve anything or are you going to build a new air box in a different shape? Any way to blend the firewalls to gain extra space.

my goal was to keep the 72 dash as stock looking as possible but the tahoe air box is just too wide to fit between the dash front and the firewall. If I try to blend the tahoe firewall that will just move the firewall closer to the motor and im not sure if thats possible. But thanks for the suggestion. I will definately take a look at doing that this evening. It would be a huge undertaking to try to make a new box because the tahoe has dual heat and air and it will be sweet if I can keep that in tact. I really appreciate your input. Thanks.

I kinda thought you might run in to this. There was a method to my madness,, it took quite a bit of work to blend my firewall and cab but,,, I think it was worth it! Did you already throw your floor/firewall away?

Another possibility is to get just the hvac box from vintageair.com and use the rest of the Tahoe system. You would have to have the high/low a/c hoses custom made to blend the two together. Might work...?

I still have the floor and firewall. I'll look and see if I can make part of it for. I really didn't want to go the vintage air route but I may have to. Thanks wade.

So Ive been doing a lot of work on the truck. I have been assembling and adjusting all the panels. Im still trying to decide what to do about the tahoe heat and air. I would really like to use it to have the dual air (that would be sweet in a 72 chevy pickup). The issue is I have already done a ton of cleaning on the firewall and id hate to cut it all up, but I may have to. The air box is too wide to fit between the interior of the firewall and the front of the dash so the firewall will have to be cut out and moved tward the engine. The other issue is that the air box is 37 inches long so it will extend all the way to where the radio, heat and air controls, etc will go so they will have to be moved somewhere else which may seem odd. I do have room to move the firewall twards the motor but im not sure if I want to do that.

Any and all opinions will be greatly apprecieated. thanks.

Well it took me all day but I did it.... It fits under the dash. I cut the firewall out of the tahoe and grapht it into the truck. And it fits.

Wow,, interesting solution to the problem. What's your plan for the wiper motor? Will it stay in the stock location?

I am planning on using the wiper motor from the Tahoe which is located inside the cowl. Sorry I havnt got much done lately I just got back from a week in vegas.
