Re: Florida to California Road Trip 1966 C10 SWB
I wish I could drive my truck across the country. I think it would make it as long as it was kept under 65MPH.

Re: Florida to California Road Trip 1966 C10 SWB
I can drive mine cross country anytime, the 200R4 (Bowtie Overdrive) and 3.73 posi wit a HO 350 crate motor gives me just about 15 mpg...Problem is comfort. Its too small a cab to ride cross country!

Have fun on your trip, and you have a great looking truck. Don't be scared to stop in Las Vegas on your way out or your way back. Great car scene out here, with a bunch of great desert iron. |

Re: Florida to California Road Trip 1966 C10 SWB
Go for it. My family and I took my daily driver 79 ford bronco from arkansas to south dakota down to colorado back across kansas then home pulling our 24 foot camper. It was me and the wife and our 4 kids. I got 4-5 miles per gallon and ran 65 on the interstate. The good thing about the older rides is if they break down you can usually get them going again long enough to make it somewhere for parts. Try dropping a tank and replacing and fuel pump on the side of the road or some major electric problem repair. Old iron rules. I have a 67 impala ss, two 65 chevy truck, a 79 bronco and a 74 one ton ford. Have fun and enjoy all the looks you will get from other people. You should have seen the looks we got in south dakota when people saw my licence plate from arkansas
