he got a very pristine truck , well seasoned , but a basically one owner , I just cleaned it up a little , added a little Utah seasoning to it , oh he hurt me a little on a set of extremes , but I found some roid ointment (LOL) , ill be back to normal in a day or 2 , but we had fun chatting and talking about growing up with these type trucks , it was all good and a big blast

The driver somehow unloaded the truck next to a Ford
I hurried up. And asked them to pull it into the shop

Congrats but I've learned the hard way twice. I literally replace the tires on the car as soon as I get it. I picked up a 67 camaro for a friend ( looked great , "drives" ). Got 5 miles and belt unraveled and messed up fender.

He pm'd me his phone #. And said to call him if I needed anything else

I noticed it and kind of thought a piece of rust came loose or something

Pulled to the shoulder. And weighed my options
I had four spare tires(the originals) we had just loaded them when I left
But neither of us even looked if the jack was behind the seat
It wasn't.

When I had left Utah
I called Kevin on my way out
My gps said I could take 80. Or 50 to Reno
It was about the same distance
He said 80. More people in case I break down
In the end Great advise

I just jumped a plane to Utah
Got delayed
Met some dude I didn't even know till a couple days before
Who picked me up at the airport
Dropped me off at some hotel.
In a town I didn't even know the name of

Who Picked me up the next morning.
To have breakfast

And as a bonus showed me his graveyard!

Went to another Chevy holding area and Checked that place out

Kinda both felt hungry again
Went to lunch. To discuss these other 26 trucks
Figured it was getting to the time we better load that truck so I could get out of there

I'm glad your rapidly demised tire was a whip whip hisssssss and not a KABLOOooweeee!!! I had the latter on my '72 last summer. Rear corner of fender dented and front trim curled out. At least the marker light was spared.


Back to your truck tale. I'm sure glad you haven't taken a step back and taken some good pictures of that short K/10 because we all hate to see pictures. We like to hear a fully detailed description of ever inch from front bumper bolts to tail lamp housings. Some say pictures are easier, but what do they know? And since I'm sure you didn't take any pictures of "the stash" there would be no way you would have anything to share there. I hope you are rolling on good rubber now, but please don't show pictures of them. We know what tires look like. I bet you're glad to be out of that desert sun situation (seriously)

Cool beans on the original engine. So it's a 4spd? Very cool for a Cheyenne Super. I like your story posts. I've done a few myself. Makes me feel like Earnest Hemmingtruck.

We had some maniac in the news last week, was under arrest and escaped while being transported to be mentally evaluated. You know where they found him at night using night vision? In a culvert just like you were eyeing up. He had all these assault & attempted murder charges in other states, too. When they caught him his picture didn't look so good, cuts and head all swelled on one side. I guess he did his usual resist arrest, beat up, and charged with assault. Talk about rubbing assault into the wound. Uhhh, ok, anyway... They dropped those charges since he already had a hundred plus years looking at him. But they did find him mentally unfit to stand trial. I think they're just taking him back to the culvert and filling in the ends .

Just sayin', better watch which culvert you crawl into. Might be a mad man in there! Or, version #2... That sounds smart but maybe you need to be crazy to do it. What does this have to do with your nice new purchase? I bet he really wanted a cold beer after all that. How about you?
