If your wanting to keep everything Doeskin, then you might have to get a Light Saddle Dash and then dye it Doeskin.

Mine was originally Maroon, but I dyed it Charcoal.

one option you could do is use a coverlay dash cover..get a neutral color and die it to match like tkcr suggested. ..I used coverlay on mine because of the ungodly asking prices for a replacement dash...

I am still trying to contact Cheyenne Truck parts, I think I will try to get a dash pad from them and dye it, I see where the Corvette 80-81 also has doeskin interior, the color looks right, that dye seems readily available.
The truck originally came with a floor may but I would rather have carpet, My door panels are in really good shape so I thought of just dying the original panels and dash to make sure they match, and running the light saddle carpet and lower door carpet. Replacing the seat cover with the light saddle as well. any thoughts?

I seen where Cheyenne contact you about the dash, that is good news. I like the sound of your plan, of the possibilities of going to the Saddle color. I think it will look great. Take plenty of before of after pic, so we can see your transformation.

And of course, I can do a bench seat for you.

Send it to Just Dashes in California. It will come back looking brand freaking new and they can do the doeskin color you have.

They did, the fellow was really pleasant to deal with, I had called several times but he said they were at a trade show. The dash is in route, along with door carpet, floor carpet, seat cover, AC vents and heater control knobs. I want to try and get the interior knocked out first! I ordered the doeskin dye also, I really like that color, it seems to be really hard to find!

I called them once regarding the 442 dash, they scared the crap out of me when they priced recovering it... and I don't get scared easily!

Yes it's not cheap. But, if your's fits perfectly and is original to me it's worth the money. Grove had his done and man is it beautiful.

That would be a question for Keith Seymore. But your right, I haven't seen any at all. When I saw yours, I was like that color can't be right. I have never seen a dash that light.

We worked on the paint last night, it was a nightmare removing all the oxidization... I am having a lot of trouble getting the factory "road rash" sticker off as pictured in the last picture! I've tried goo gone, 3M adhesive remover and the 3M eraser wheel and nothing has helped at all! Any suggestions?

I haven't been on in a few days, I cannot find ANYTHING to remove that road rash sticker.... on a positive note we have made some progress!
New window fuzzies, new window rubber, one of the classic sound radios with Bluetooth etc, new 3-1/2 in the dash, 6x9's behind the seat, new carpet, new dash, new gauge bezel, new seat cover, new sport bumper, new AC vents, new tail light lenses etc!

Thanks guys. I am going to try a plastic razor and more adhesive remover for the "rock chip" stickers, the bumper really made a difference in the looks! We are still working on the 1961 Apache, haven't really got started on the 1971 Jimmy and right slap in the middle of building a retaining wall that is 17' x 180' I think I may be forced to part with this truck as much as I don't want to... I'll probably never find one that I like the color and interior color as much as this one

Something doesn't look quite right with your dash, edges seems a little to rounded to be factory. This might be why you cant match the color.

That dash is from Cheyenne truck parts, it has been dyed back to the original Doeskin color, side by side its the same color as the factory one we pulled out.

I've had some luck with a heat gun and a bondo spreader. Took awhile but it worked. Heated up the sticker really good then slowly peeled it back with the spreader. Used adhesive remover and a pinstripe eraser (I assume it's the same as your 3M wheel) to clean it up after it was peeled off.

Truck is looking nice! The Doeskin makes the interior look super clean.
