Re: So what are your plans for heating your garage this winter
so I am a cheap ass for sure. but have always loved the idea of waste oil heat. does anyone have it? the shop by me does and loves heating the shop for free. just keep the stuff filtered well in the tank and change the units filters often. when I get a garage to work in I am sneaking in waste heat for sure.

WE pay to have so much used oil hauled away, I love the idea of using used oil for heating.

well I absolutely understand where you are coming from and I am a firm believer of proper maintenance and inspecting your machine often. but for about 5k you can get a nice unit and run anything from oil to trans fluid to brake fluid through it. I like the idea of not having to pay for heating oil and after a few years it pays for itself. in savings of heating oil and not paying to get rid of waste oil. |

Agreed!! I asked the used oil truck driver about responsibilities and he said if the truck was in an accident the business was responsible for their portion of the oil payload cleanup. He summed it up with" you are responsible from cradle to grave"
