Re: Just did the Brothers LWB to SWB conversion...
If anyone has one sitting around I could buy. It would save me some money. I even thought about buying the frame stiffeners and mocking up my own template and makeing tons of measurements. I’ve seen both the straight cut and the z cut both with the same results.

Re: Just did the Brothers LWB to SWB conversion...
I’m curious as to the reliefs in the frame. Are they in place for any reason. Can I eliminate them if I wanted to shorten up my frame. It looks like I would cut out the 12” that has my vin# on it.

In California framing they like nails because they bend and distort in earthquakes, where's a screw will hold rigid till it snaps. That said, Brothers probably did it to save money! I think I would get that kit if I was willing to hack a frame. Grade 5/8 ? I wouldn't be comfortable till it was welded anyway. I'm like you... I like overkill! OP nice write up, have fun!!! j

Re: Just did the Brothers LWB to SWB conversion...
Great write-up. Just used their kit on my '70. Pretty straight forward except the new brake-line included with the kit. Anyone have a pic of where they disconnected/connected the new line? My existing brake line I disconnected under the cab, right by the fuel line. But the new brake line is WAY longer. Unless someone has changed the lines on this truck before, I cant see the location. Thanks

Great write up.
Maybe if enough of you all do this it’ll make my LWB more desirable than a SWB! ;-) |
