May have a got a little snow at the cabin last night. But, the doc says "no cabin for awhile". My goal is to go to the cabin soon. I like VISITING the snow.

I hope you can go freeze your butt off soon. Snow visits us most of the time. But when it stay around and keeps on piling on it overstays it's welcome.

I hope you get to VISIT the snow soon, and eat what ever you want while there, but it's probably best to listen to the doc for now.

If we ever get appreciable snow here at 6500' this year, I'll post up some photos. So far I'm watering the fruit trees just to make sure they get through the winter. The apple tree is budding out already! That's not right.

Man, it really is a drought. SW Colorado is powder city. We are in a bad drought here and most people don't even know since it's not the growing season.

Thanks guys, I'm listening to the doc. It's no fun but doing what I'm told. Hopefully on the mend in March.

It doesn't seem to mind. I pulled some pictures out of Photobucket hostage:
Name: Picture001.jpg
Views: 225
Size: 40.6 KB
Name: Picture002.jpg
Views: 231
Size: 39.5 KB

This is a video from P-bucket. I haven't figured out how to save my videos off of there, but it looks like I was able to link to a video to show. Sorry for the frustratingly slow loading of Photobucket. They have that site so bund up with advertising pop-ups you have to wait on to load so it can interfere with why you came there in the first place.

Snow from a few years ago:

Ice from a few years ago:

Snow from a couple of weeks ago:

And the weatherman is calling for more snow/ice/misery over the next couple of weekends. Fortunately, I've got my Z71 running again, so I'll be able to fling snow with the off road tires & get pictures. Now that I've typed that, watch the weather stay just warm enough to stay as rain.

Re: Pic Thread: Trucks In Snow

I hope you get snow and not ice. Ice ain't no good for nothin'. We got a dusting night before last. They had that brine spread everywhere, even on my road, by the afternoon before when it was due the next morning. The thing was, it never got below freezing so that little bit would not have stuck to the road anyway. You can still see the stripes of brine on my road for the next snow

More older pictures (from before they started using brine)

Re: Pic Thread: Trucks In Snow

I hate snow ,but there is a reason or two for that hate .We usually get a layer of ice and then snow on top of that . Our government is not equipped to deal with either one ,very little equipment for removal. Then there is the thing where Im stuck on campus once it starts snowing until it is thawed for snow shoveling walkways .

Re: Pic Thread: Trucks In Snow

I totally understand. I have been self-employed most of my life and work is outside. So bad weather days there is no question when I wake up to rain, snow, sleet. No work today. So I sit back and enjoy it. I used to plow snow but stopped so I could stay home and enjoy the snow with my kids. I don't even like being out and about when it's sloppy, unless I'm out before the plows and everybody else. I love it then. I'd drive cross country in the snow if there weren't any knuckleheads

Re: Pic Thread: Trucks In Snow

I went to Lake Placid, NY last week for my buddy's bachelor party. Keep in mind I am from Florida (born and raised) and this was only my second time experiencing snow. Well we were out one day and it had been kind of rainy, but one of the warmer 40 degree days so no snow. Once night came the sidewalks and roads started freezing up with thin layers of ice. When I first started hitting patches I had no idea how to handle it and was almost busting my butt all over. At one point, I was frozen in place because I just kept sliding towards a huge puddle until someone who knows how to walk in that crap pushed me through haha. All of these guys from NJ, NY, and PA thought it was hilarious and the people walking by thought I was crazy. I'll stick to Florida.

Re: Pic Thread: Trucks In Snow

I was looking for pictures and found myself reading up on these first specifically built snow plow trucks made by Walker. Walker continued making large trucks many years

This has got to be good. That looks like tough snow. It would help to angle that blade more. Does a good job:

I think I'll build one:
