Got the motor and trans mocked in, I’m finding it very odd that the dodge mounts fell right into some factory holes that were already drilled in the crossmember. I do have to fix the upper bolt location but really impressed how it’s fitting.

Also started to “cup” my lowers, and cut up some pieces for fish plates inside my frame where I shortened it.

Got my inner front fenders finally, was a pain in the a$$ dealing with the maker of these. Web site said 8-10 weeks behind but ended up taking double that. And to boot they both came damaged and a bunch of surface rust. I’ll leave his name out because I wish him and his business the best but I didn’t have the best experience.

Double “Z” front and back done, also moved the front forward 1 inch. Z’d the back 6 inches and the front up 2 and forward 1 inch. I have to order some more steel so I can box it all in. With the 6” in the back along with the CCP c notch I will be able to lay frame with my 28” tall tires. Next step is to put the motor back in and see if my oil pan clears the floor. And then check my clearance again on the fire wall.
So far everything has been going smooth (knock on wood) hopefully it stays smooth. My lower control arms are all welded up as well. I’ll spend the next week putting the new joints and bushings in them getting ready for the bags. I’m gonna get the chassis going up and down before I finish my frame welds and paint it up. Still not sure why my photos are going sideways. Anyone help me out? |

Man, this is a lot of work. I’m done welding on the frame finally. Time to rebuild the control arms and build it to a roller. I’ll build it unpainted first then when I’m happy with it I’ll take it back apart and paint it for final assembly.
I made Bristol board cut outs then transferred them to sheet metal and cut them out with a plasma. The plasma makes for easy work providing you have a steady hand. This build is very boring right now I know, but hopefully it gets better when the actual build comes. |

ya man, he seems young so hopefully he cracks out of it and takes his business more seriously. I will say one thing though, he does great work and hes not afraid to stand behind it.

Bit more progress, frame is finally welded up enough for assembly. I was going to paint the chassis and build it but I think I’ll build the truck raw in case I have to cut something out or weld something in. Plus this is my first go at this so maybe my measurements are way off. Slow and boring at this stage, I like when parts are going on and it’s all coming together.

I know how you feel posting a build on this site. Seems the "Projects and Builds" section here is more like a blog for 3 or 4 guys.
Just build your truck and share the stuff you are proud of. I sure am following. My build thread is basically ignored on this site too. |

We are learning sheet metal as we go ourselves. Greg and I got pretty seriouse when the new floor went in and then we lost our minds and went full one off on the firewall and transmission tunnel. Once we got through that we had enough courage to go ahead and build the front clip.
Best advice I can offer you is be way out front on all the pieces you will need and incorporate them as early as possible to allow you to build them into your truck. Inter coolers and turbo 's have a way of eating valuable real estate then the niceties like AC and properly routed rack and pinions and power steering systems all start fighting for the tiny space you have left. It can be quite maddening if you don't lay it out when the build is still a bare frame. One thing I did invest in was a top shelf MIG that allowed me to run .023" wire in it. That sure makes welding and patching tin much easier. Just keep on keeping on. |

Awesome work man! I am very passionate about these motors and this gen or GM truck. I love to see the work that goes on here on this site, keeps me inspired. Keep the updates coming in watching. I’m wondering where I’m going to get the space for my ac condenser and a bunch of other items under the hood and I’m sticking with the old dodge ride height! I don’t know where you guys and your slammed rigs are going to fit anything hahaha. In hindsight I think I would have done completely custom inner fenders

Had to chop 2” out of the oil pan so it doesn’t drag the ground when slammed. I was dreading this obstical but it was actually very straight forward. Now I just have to cut a section out of the pick up tube.

My builds get ignored alot to. Probably cause I didn't do a 350 small block that's been done by 3/4 of the people on this sight. lol Very thankful for the faithful followers that have always checked in though.
In for this build cause Cummins. Closest I have to it is a 1999 Dodge 2500 with a 24v 5.9 and 5 speed. My daily driver currently and loving every minute of it. Straight piped, edge tuner, upgrade intake elbow, and a/f kit. Leveling kit and sitting on 35's.
